I know this probably sounds silly, but I've been reluctant to transistion them to their nursery. They have stayed in my room since they came home. However, the mini crib we have in our room is starting to get snug. :( So I know it's time! They are almost 4 mos old, and they are sleeping great. They go to bed around 9-10 pm, wake around 4-5 am, go back to bed until 8 am. Anyway, DH set up the TV monitor for me weeks ago, but I kept putting it off. So I've agreed that tonight is the night! Their room is literally 10 steps from mine. It is exactly across the hall from my bedroom. They are just growing up so fast & I want to hold on to tight I know.

    I am completely nuts??? :umm:

You're not nuts. I was very reluctant on having the girls in a different room than me.
You'll be fine. :hug99: If you are anything like me just be prepared to not get much sleep. I was constantly up checking on them, regardless of a monitor.

I still have the twins in my (our) room....and they are over 19 months old ;)

We just find it easier this way....we have a 4 bedroom house. There is myself, hubby, and our 7 sons....there are 2 rooms with 2 boys each, our oldest son has the very small bedroom alone, and we share with the twins. The only things in the bedrooms are beds and their clothes (dressers and closets).....all of their toys are in a different room that we call the toyroom.....

All of the bedrooms are upstairs and everything else in the house in on the main level

You aren't nuts!! It's hard when they have been within arms reach until now! They will be fine...and so will you!! :hug99:

We've just recently transitioned the babies into their nursery from our bedroom. I thought it was going to be way worse than what it was. They did awesome from the first night...and honestly? So did I. It was really nice to have some personal space again...where I can read a book at night with the light on without disturbing anyone (except my DH haha). A year ago I had just gotten pregnant and since then, life revolved around pregnancy and then babies. It is nice to re-claim my room and have some space for *us*. At least until they wake up at 5am and we all cuddle in bed together :)

The first night is always the hardest! You all will be fine. Just try not to stay up all night "watching" the monitor. Let us know how it went. :)

You are not nuts! I had my daughter in my bedroom until she was 9 months old. In the bassinette until about 5 months and then a portacrib until 9 months. The transition to crib was much easier than anticipated, probably harder for me than her.

Good luck to you. My twins are nearing 3 months and I am going to have to start thinking about doing this with them as well. I know I can't have them next to me for months as they are much noisier than my daughter was and I find it very hard to sleep with them next to me.
