I have 3 yo twin girls who are potty trained. However, they make a mess of the bathroom everytime they use the potty! How do you teach your toddlers not to over use the toilet paper? Mine just don't understand and it seems that their favorite past time is playing with it! By the end of the day my bathroom looks like a toilet paper tornado hit. The bathroom on my main level is in direct eye sight when you walk through the front door and I'm tired of seeing toilet paper all over the floor! I have a 6 mo old son as well, so I can't always help them in the bathroom right when they need me.

We have the same problem!!! Toilet paper everywhere. I think I'm going to start teaching them to use 2 squares at a time, but I don't hold out much hope for that. I hate that they are wasting the stuff - because who really wants to use it after it's been all over the floor?

Have you tried getting the wet wipes? We have those in the bathroom. Now the girls use regular toilet paper for pee, but those wipes only come out one at a time. So, they are pretty convenient. We buy them in bulk at Costco and they are flushable.

I agree with the PP, they still use wet wipes. Works much better!

I know what you mean by not being able to go with them each time, I am in the same situation... wet wipes do the trick!

I do prefer the wet wipes, but if I am not in the bathroom they pull out way too many! So I have the same problem. I may get the wipes anyway and lock up the toilet paper (lol) and only bring it out when guests are over!

We had a two square rule originally, but they are fine now so I don't "enforce" it. They also can use the wipes, but Ben has a difficult time just taking out one. So we waste a lot of those.

I don't have a whole lot of experience on this, but have you tried the toilet paper with the paw prints? I think it is Cottonelle.....

I had to take the toilet paper away and put it up high, but then I have to help them. Right now we are only training, so we are using moist wipes a lot etc....

Have you tried just taking a few strips of toilet paper and leaving it out for them? Like if you only want them to use two squares, tear off three or four stips with two squares on them. Then put the toilet paper away were they can't reach it. The only problem with that is you will have to check the bathroom a little more often to put out more squares for them but atleast you know they aren't using to much and if you can't get to them right away they have it there.
