For those of you who give you kids tofu--how do you serve it? I bought some cubed tofu, but don't know how to serve it to the twins. Should I flavor it? Serve it the way it is w/soem fruits and veggies? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I gave it to my kids for the first time the other day. I used a can of organic, salt free tomatoes and pureed them with the chunks of (firm) tofu. I cut up some spaghetti, mashed some freshly steamed peas and stirred it together. They LOVED it.

That's the only meal I have so far, I'll be interested to see how others prepare it, too.

When they were just starting finger foods, I gave them firm tofu cut into cubes. I also tried some teriyaki-marinated tofu once (a bit later, around a year) and they liked it. But they didn't eat enough to make it worth buying a whole package. With plain tofu, I could give them a bit and use the rest for something else.

Alas, our tofu-eating stage only lasted a couple of months before they became too picky for it.

I like the smoothie idea. I just shared a Jamba Juice with Amy at the grocery store the other day and she was way into it!

I cut it into cubes and put it in soup. I also stir fry it with veggies and flavor it with soy sauce. Also try "scrambled tofu"-mush the tofu with your hands over a frying pan and cook it like you'd make scrambled eggs.

I buy White Wave baked tofu. It's already marinated, and comes in a number of flavors. My kids are totally nuts for it. They love the lemon pepper one, tomato basil, and garlic herb.

I am researching tofu as well as protein source for my 2. Just found this site that might be useful:

While I wouldn't call this "healthy" mine LOVE fried tofu. I cut it into strips, fry it in olive oil and serve it with ketchup. They gobble it up. I tried putting it in stirfry, (after marinating it in teryaki), but they didn't like it as much.

You can cube it, dip it in an egg wash, then in breadcrumbs/parmesean cheese. Brown them in a pan with a little oil - turns out kind of like a chicken nugget!
