Any idea for toddler room decoration? What would you put in there?

For now all I know is they'll have their crib and a dresser each... but I'm really clueless about what toddlers need.

Any idea would be great... We only finished our nursery 10 months ago and I'm just sad we have to start over, and with two rooms this time. I guess we'll remove the stickers and might just use them again in one of the rooms...

Bins for toy storage, book shelf, growth chart. Those were my first thoughts. I'm sure there's more.

Make it as babyproof as possible with not much stuff. Some day they will be in toddler beds being able to roam freely in there so make it safe. To be able to transition easily to big kids rooms do not put border or murals on the wall otherwise you will have to repaint when they are too old for that stuff which is sooner than you think. My kid's room is painted light green with dressers that will last their entire lives even if they are grown up. They have bookcase they cannot tip over with a bunch of books and a toy bin on the floor they can pull out from under the crib for when I gate them in there to play. On the high up dresser and bookcase are some toys and other cute things that make the room look cute. They have a cute lamp on the dresser and that is it. There is a rocker glider in there that I recovered myself with flannel fabric with dogs on it. The curtains I sewed myself have jungle animals all over them. So when they grow up all I have to do to the room is put up new curtains and put the baby toys away. By then they will have their own things to make the room look nice.

Yes that's why I love those wall stickers you can just remove...

Bookcases scare me though... especially with DS. I'd have to attach them to the wall.

I've thought about getting the boys some removable vinyl adhesive decorations for the walls. They really love ABC's. However, they are good sleepers now and I fear that too much decoration will distract them and interfere with their sleep. If I leave an Elmo toy in their room, they will scream for it until I take it out, so I fear the same would happen with ABC's on the wall. Good luck and have fun decorating!!

As far as what should go in there, I am not an expert on this since I don't have children in their own rooms yet, but the transition will be creeping up on me before I know it and I have put a lot of thought into it.

    Their beds of course
    A dresser
We got a white bookshelf from Ikea for their nursery, when we made a playroom, we got the same thing and some bins that you put in there for storage. It has 8 spots, we got 4 red storage boxes that fit into the cubes of the book case, and 4 purple. So each one of them will have one of those book cases in their room my son will have the 4 red storage boxes, the other 4 cubes will be for books. My daughter will have the 4 purple for toys, and the other cubes will be for books in her room.
I have to get a growth chart
    I think that's about it.
We are probably going to do a garden theme for my daughters room, w/ bird houses, etc.
My son, I am not sure, maybe baseball, because we love baseball, and he loves his little tykes baseball bat and ball. We may change our minds for him though.

If you have stickers on the wall over time the paint fades so when you remove them there will outlines of the stickers.

Do you know what i have on my boys walls ages 6 and 4 (and i will do the same for the girls) and they LOVE it are their names and old photos of them as babies to now:) you can start putting up photos of the twins with all those pics you love but had downstairs on the wall or in your photo album:) I also buy some vinyl lettering i put in the middle of thier photo collage:)
ok so think bins! go to www.mabellabels.com and make a whole bunch of labels for your bins/toys-book/ect--you can even colour cordinate them -ie boys bins-blue- girls-pink ect---if you dont want to put a book shelf in yet-just use a big laundry basket! its very sturdy and can hold tons of books to tote to room to room:) make it simple-you just know your tidying it up all day long  you can also hang up some pretty butterflies from the celing or aiplanes-go to the dollar store and get the ones you would NEVER let your child play with but they make great mobiles:)
I hope that helps! kids LOVE To stare at the celing and 2 you can get glow in the dark stickers(stars and planets) they cant reach it but can marvel at them when they are going down for that nap or nite time sleep:)

In terms of bedspread/comforter, IKEA has a lot of really cute and colorful things that you could get for their "big kid beds" now and decorate the room based on that. They have a fish one that I love and am actually thinking about redoing the boys room even though we'll only be here another year.
