We're moving in a few weeks and I can't decide what to do with the girls room. Should I set it up like their nursery or should I buy new big girl bedding and decor? Right now their room is really pink and baby girlish. Also, has anyone gotten one of those rug in a box? I saw a really cute disney princess one at target and was thinking about getting that for their new room?

I would go for more of a big girl room and they can grow into it instead of a nursery that you'll have to redo soon. I like the Disney princess idea, my almost 9 yo still likes princess themed items, so your girls would get a lot of use from that theme.

Our girls room doesn't really have a strong theme. The walls are painted a warm peachy color. (not too girly). My advice is start simple and then see where their interests go. I couldn't have predicted that my girls like Tigger & Pooh and I'm sure their fav characters will change. So we keep it simple.

I would start mixing in Dora or Princesses(or what ever they are really into). Ours is princesses we have the wall stickers and bedding. They only had one set of baby bedding because they shared till 14 months.

I would go with more of a big girl room than a nursery looking one so they can grow into it. They will outgrow the nursery theme want in a few months or so.

My girls picked the color of their room (they were 3) so we have a pink and purple room for them but with no theme. I figure they can put up posters or wall stickers with whatever theme they are into as they get older. I also figured that they will have so many things that they are into and then decide they don't like it anymore that I didn't want to have to redo their room as they go through phases.

Well, this is just me, but I refuse to have "character" themed rooms (as long as I can get away with it ;) ). We are in the process of redoing the girls' room. We moved to toddler beds about 2mos ago and painted it last weekend. This coming weekend we are doing the border. We are fortunate that the girls like princesses and fairies but they don't care if it's "Disney" princess or "Tinkerbell" fairy right now. So, we did their room in pink and green paint with a fairy border that is just darling. They love the border and they went crazy over the colors of their room. I figure we'll have to redo it between ages 6-8, hopefully a little later, as they become more sure of their likes and dislikes and want a "bigger girl" theme. But this should last awhile.

So, I would go with a toddler/pre-school theme that they can grow into versus a nursery theme.

    Have fun with it!

In my mind, I am planning on doing stripes and polka dots kind of theme/bedding (if I can find it). I think it would be fun and something they can grow into. But we'll see, they may have say about it when it is time ;)
