Now that the boys are off and running I'm finding that I spend a good portion of each day playing "hide & seek" for my own stuff!

It's actually funny in a "man-I-can't-keep-up-with-them" kind of way. We had to get to the post office before it closed today and I spent 40 minutes looking for a shoe (yes there were many others to choose from, but it was right there a second ago, I had to find it on prinicple;)). I never did find it before giving up and heading to the post office. It was in Joe's crib when I put him to bed. It's too big to fit through the slats so I have NO IDEA how he launched it in there.

Last week we "lost" the remote control and found it a few days later inside the storage seat of the boys' ride-on toy.
Yesterday I fished 2 kitchen towels and a book out of the water table.

Anyone else play hide and seek lately?

Yes, lots of stuff gets lost, but my personal vendetta is against lost sippy cups. I swear I spend probably an hour a day looking for cups.

They always get a hold of my keys and I can never find them. THey got in my diaper bag the other day and I thought I had put everything back. Went to leave for work the next monring and NO keys. I was already running late, so I just grabbed my car key off DH's ring and left the house. Get to work (1/2 hour late) and realize I do'nt have my office keys. So, I went on a Starbucks run for everyone...the guy who has the only other key to my office didn't get there until 8 and I got there at 7:30. He let me into my office. Call DH at lunch and tell him the office key fiasco and he says, "Oh, did you think about not having house keys either?" I think I said a few not-so-nice words and that's when he explained to me that he left the door in the garage unlocked for me. WHEW! Good thing he was thinking. So, that was my morning b/c my kids like to hide things...then I spent the evening looking for them...lol!

Sippy cups is another pet peeve....UGH...found 2 curdled milk ones in the basement the other day b/c we forgot to take them upstairs and they put them in the toy bin so I never saw them to remind me to take them upstairs. Those just got pithced.

I can never find their shoes....they hide them in little tote bags, in the CD compartment in our entertainment center, in the bottom of toy totes, etc

I could go on and on...but, to answer your question, yes my girls do this too :)

LOL Sorry to laugh...but this happened to me once too so we got a key ring organizer and it hangs in the garage and I have to put my keys on it EVERY TIME I get home so I know exactly where they will be (and out of reach of kids) when it's time to leave. As back up, I also had a second set of "safety keys" made just in case it ever did happen.

Yes! We're still "playing" hide and seek here! We have lost a few things forever. It's like there's a black hole somewhere in this house and they have found it and put things in it! LOL I've gotten really good at keeping "important" things up high... most of the time. ;)

My littlest ones each have a shoe fetish. They will wear anyone's shoe around the house and thus leave it where ever it falls off. I can never find my shoes or the girls shoes because the shoes really have walked off!

And I agree that sippy cups really do vanish into thin air. There's still one sippy cup that I swear did vanish. I put it in Annie's crib when she went to bed (she took a cup of water to bed as a toddler) and it wasn't there when she woke up. I never found it, despite looking all around the crib.

Joey likes to put things in her clothes hamper. I just dump the clothes in the washer, bad, I know. I've washed shoes and nesting cups, but caught books in time. Even had to buy new shoes because the one was missing only to find it a few days later when I washed. (My girls have way too many clothes, hand me downs, that I don't have to wash every week.)

Yes! I cannot find the DVD remote control to save my life. I often can't find my keys and they will be somewhere weird, like in the Little People schoolbus. My mom found a cracker and some raisins from who knows when in their toy purse. Eeew!

The boys hid Dh keys the other day in a filing cab. It took us 2 days to find them.

We are always looking for sippy cups, shoes and we still have not found our TV remotes.

Ah, I love reading these...they are great!

Today I had to retrieve 3 sippies that were flung over the deck railing. While I was down there (for the THIRD time) I noticed something in the hanging fushia basket....it was the Momma Bear Weeble to our Goldilocks Weeble set! Who knows how long that had been there!

The other day my husband found sunscreen hidden in their little people Noah's ark set... I guess they didn't want Noah to get a sunburn!
