Toddler carseats

Hi there,

I was wondering if there were any non-minivan owners out there who have twin toddlers and an infant. What brand of carseats are you using for your twin toddlers?

I drive a Toyota 4Runner which I thought had a fairly big back seat however our current Britax seats are too wide so there is not enough room for an infant bucket seat (graco snugride).

We're hoping to not have to buy a minivan at this time for financial reasons.

If anyone has found a carseat configuration that allows for 3 seats to fit in a row, I'd love to hear from you.

The sunshine kids Radian 65 (or 80) should work for you. I had 3 across the back of my Audi a6 wagon. Initially I had two Radians and the infant carrier (a peg perego) and then switched to 3 Radians.

 

We currently have 3 car seats across our Envoy XL. We have one Britax Roundabout in the middle (although I'd love 3 of those suckers!!), one Graco booster seat (for dd), and one Evenflo convertible. It is tight, and we can't use our 3rd row. But, it fits.

When the boys were infants, we had the Britax in the middle for dd and our Graco infant seats on either side.

 

I had 2 Britax diplomats, they are the compacted versions of the marathons and a graco snugfit one in the back row of our suburban. It was a tight squeeze and our biggest problem wasn't the fit but the toddlers stealing all the babys blankets and bottle :lol:

 

We just bought a new car and got the Ford Flex. The seats are incredibly wide.
Right now we are planning on putting our 2 Britax toddler seats along with the graco infant seat in the 2nd row and folding down our 3rd row completely for an extra large trunk (to haul the stroller, carrier, diaper bag etc).
If we have company the carseats will have to be reconfigured though, the twins will probably go to the back row and the baby and guest can sit in the 2nd row. The Britax seats are big but for as expensive as they are, I dont want to get rid of them.
