Ok...so I am considering putting them in toddler beds. They are two next month but I swore I would leave them in their cribs until the absolute last minute because they are CONTAINED!!! But I was thinking the other day I want to get rid of their pacifiers soon (they only have them at night and naps)and I thought it might be good to have them for the switch to toddler beds, and then get rid of them after they are adjusted. Am I crazy for doing this so soon? I put my older DS in a toddler bed at 19 months and he did fine, but with the twins, it is such a different scenario because there are two of them and they share a room. Please help with advice, ideas... [IMG] Thanks in advance...

It seems a little young to me, but only you can decide that. We switched at 2.5 & had about a month of no napping.

We switched ds to his toddler bed on his second birthday...we made a big deal out of it, telling him he was such a big boy so for his birthday he got a brand new bed. He did start geting up and not always napping but we put a gate at his door so he couldnt get out until we went to get him

I suggest not switching them now. If they aren't complaining about the crib or climbing out, I think it's best to keep them there. Once they have adjusted to getting rid of the paci (it shouldn't take too long), they will be just fine and you will get more months of ease with them being in their cribs. Perhaps when they are ready for the toddler beds, they will have a blanket or something to use as comfort. JMHO.

Personally I am hoping to keep ours in cribs as long as they fit and don't climb out. You might want to wait a bit.

Personally we are staying in the cribs as LONG as possible. It does seem a little young to me too.

I would think it would be easier to get rid of the paci's with them still in cribs rather than the other way around. Another vote to keep them in cribs as long as you can. Two is definately different than one.

DON'T DO IT!!!! My girls could easily climb over the gate, and DID! I say if it ain't broke, don't fix it! [IMG] Wait unitl you have to, because it is REALLY hard. One of my gilrs (now at age 3) gets up in the middle of the night and goes into the living room to play. I wish she could STILL be in the crib!

Thanks for the advice guys...I think I will just wait...I definitely don't need all that right now....it might be easier once they are a little older and more mature.

I got rid of the pacy's at 20 months and then put them into toddler beds 1 week later. Were loving it!!!!!! No complaints. I would definetly get rid of paci's first in the crib, then switch. Do IT!!!

I am in the minority here. I switched the boys at 19mos and had no problems out of them. There have been a few days when naps were iffy but the majority of the time they do great.

I see that you already decided to wait but I wanted to add that I switched mine over right before their first birthdays and I took away their pacifiers (which they were only using at night) shortly thereafter and they did fine.
