At 20 months, my little monkies are trying to go without any naps! How do we stop this?? More specifically, ONE is trying to go w/o nap, and she ultimately always ends up waking her sister because she's lonely, at least that's the conclusion I come to because she'll scream and throw a fit if we take her out of the room or away from her sister while she's trying to sleep.

They both end up grumpy and pitch a fit at every little thing when they don't get their naps, or only get a short (an hour or less) nap. How do we get them to take their naps, and how do we make them last longer??? We try to put them down after lunch unless they are really tired well before lunch, then we give them an extra morning snack and put them to sleep. they get changed right before sleep, but sometimes end up waking up from a dirty diaper (I know there's no way to help that until they start potty-training)

Today of all days is really bad for no naps, cuz we can't go outside, or even take them to the museum, since everything around here is closed due to TS Hannah and it's windy and rainy..... :( they're bored with their indoor toys and are about to drive me to the crazy farm with their tantrums.

IMO, it is too early for no naps. I put mine down at 10 a.m. everyday unless they are acting really tired beforehand, but never later. This routine works really well. They usually fade off in 5 to 10 minutes. If not, so be it. They know they're staying in there. they always end up falling asleep at some point, it just takes some holding onto my wits sometimes. And they, well, WE need it.

In my opinion it is way too young! but all kids are different.
Mine are barely at just one nap, they still could take 2 on some days!

Maybe if you come up with a more "strict" one nap per day plan. My girls went to 1 nap per day before their 1st bday because 1 of them would scream all day and not nap at all. This went on for 2 months and I almost had a real nervous breakdown.

We moved to 1 nap. 12-3. it was great!!!

Now, they are 2.5 and fighting naps again, but I keep trying for atleast "quiet time". They have crib tents and that helps keep them in bed.

As for the pooping, we have the same problem. There is no easy answer to that one.
