To Tandem or Not To Tandem

Now that we have decided on the new carseats, we will need a new stroller. There are so many out there!! The lady at BRU was trying to talk us into the Combi side by side but the baskets underneath weren't very big. So my question is - Which stroller do you like best and why? :help:

We have the Combi SBS, I like it. I don't like the fact that the baskets are so small, but it is so lightweight and easy to steer. My back loves me for it.

I have both, depending on the situation of where we go. If we go to a store or mall, I, personally prefer the tandem. But walking around the park or at the beach, we like the SBS

A lot of people rant about it, but I absolutely LOVE my duoglider... it is so spacious and the boys are so comfortable in it. Plus it has so much room to store things.

Ditto, not a lot of space but man, is it light!!!!!! B)

I also would like to get a SBS jogging stroller for the beach as well.

Combi Savvy. I love it. The basket is small - but it is the easiest to push - get around stores - walk on the sidewalk etc!

We have the Graco Duoglider, too. I really like it because it's fairly easy to maneuver (shopping aisle widths have never been an issue nor have narrow doorways). The huge basket underneath is perfect for storing EVERYTHING! My only complaint is that it is heavy.

I have the Combi SBS and absolutely love it. Everyone is right, it doesn't have a lot of basket space, but I just hang stuff on the handle and make due. I love how light it is and easy to fold. Plus my girls love sitting next to each other.

I am a Peg Perego Aria fan. The storage basket is much easier to get to and I love that it weighs practically nothing, folds up small and rides nicely. It is a bit more expensive and yes, you cannot put a ton of weight in the storage basket. But that was fine as I use a backpack diaper bag and I can sling it across the bar if I need to and I got a good deal on mine, so the price was similar to the Combi.

My advice is to pick one or two must have features you want in a stroller and focus on that. There is no perfect stroller out there. So if you want light-weight, easy to fold, go with the Combi or the Aria. If you want a sturdy, large storage space go with a Graco DuoGlider or similar stroler. Or you may even want a jogger? That's where I would start.

We personally had a Snap-n-Go and then went to a Duo Glider and then a Peg Perego Aria. Looking back I wish I would have skipped the Duo Glider all together. It was too heavy to lift and fold and was sometimes hard to push. The Aria is perfect for me.

    Good luck.

There was just a similar post asking about strollers... Here is my take on it -

I have to say, I have a tandem (front-back) Graco duo glider stroller. I loved this stroller from minute one - the fact that you could snap the infant seats right into it; and all of the room the babies had when they were smaller. But now that they are 19 months old, they are really outgrowing it. Whoever sits in the back has limited leg room, and usually winds up kicking the one in the front - especially if the front seat is reclined. Oh yeah -that is another thing; the front seat does not fully recline. I knew that before I bought it, but did not think it was a dealbreaker... in fact my girls have never had a problem sleeping in the front or back seat! But the leg room is just going to force me to but a side-by-side.

I have seen the Combi Twin Savvy LX Double Stroller -SBS that I really like. It runs about $300, but I think it is worth it. It is all over the internet now, but here is one website you can check it out on:

We have a Mountain Buggy Urban Double, which is our primary stroller because we do most of our walking outside (and rarely need to go into stores). We also have a Maclaren Twin Traveller, which I put in the car if we're going to the mall or the doctor's office or something. But it has tiny wheels and isn't comfortable for me to push, so I never use it for long walks.

The MBUD does have pretty small baskets, though. It wasn't a problem when the girls were really little, but now that we're bringing extra jackets, sippy cups, toys, etc. on our outings, it's getting to be a tight squeeze.
