ok I know with twins you're suppose to do everything early since there's a bigger chance of having them early and the chance of bed rest but is 6 months to early? My mom wants to give me a shower somewhere early to mid May

I say the Earlier the Better!! My shower was scheduled for 28 weeks 2 days, I went on hospital bedrest at 24 weeks and my girls were born 28 weeks 1day so I missed my shower all together (it actually became a Birthday party!). Plus you might enjoy it more if you are not as far along in your pregnancy. Good Luck!!

I had my shower two weeks ago at 29 weeks. My back was so sore that I had to sit for most of it. It was weird to have people coming to me while I sat at the head table instead of me walking around to greet the guests. If I had know I would be so sore, tired, and swollen I would have asked my family to schedule it earlier. It still was a really nice shower and I am still trying to put away all the gifts.

No not at all, I mostly waited till I found out the sexes of the babies. 6 months is a good time to have it.

should I have my mom send a list of what I'm needing or just tell them where I'm registered?

yeah in the invite you say so and so is registered at (place). Most places let you go online so you can see what's been purchased.

Hope you get everything you need. Have fun!

Not too early at all. Yes, in the invite put registered at....

You could also give your Mom some ideas that you might not register for and she can let people know if they ask.

I personally think that is perfect timing. The earlier the better.

Definitely not too early. Get it done now while you can enjoy it. We barely got registered before I ended up in the hospital and then on bedrest at 24 weeks. The shower was at 28 weeks and my boys were here at 33 weeks. You don't want to wait too long on anything.

I had my shower at 29 weeks and was put on bedrest the week before. I still went but could not enjoy it nearly as much as I wanted to. My sister had to open all of the gifts for me. I felt awful, so I agree with all the other posts, the earlier the better.

Do it now...so you can put everything away and get the thank you cards done before the babies arrive! I will be writing them until my guys are 2!!

Sometimes the earlier the better! A lot of times with twins, the earlier the better! Yes, register and the stores will generally give you cards to put in the shower invites to show where you are registered.

I had mine at almost 25 weeks. I'm so glad I did it then. I was able to enjoy the shower more than if I had waited. Every week that goes by, you'll get more and more uncomfortable. Do it early. Organizing everything is the toughest part. We are still putting stuff away. You'll want to be able to enjoy playing with everything and washing all the clothes you'll get. I still haven't done that yet.

I started my showers at 29 weeks and had the last one about 34 weeks. I went into labor naturally at 36 weeks and I hadn't quite finished my thank you notes from that last shower. ugh. Definitely better to have them early.

I think that would be just fine. I had my shower on a Sunday at 26w6d. I had an appt. on Monday at 27w and was placed on bedrest for being 1 cm dilated that very next day. I'm SO glad I got the shower out of the way. Then, I ended up spending most of 30-34 weeks in the hospital.

I think that is wonderful timing. I pushed my friends to have mine in March and they kept delaying til April. Mine was yesterday and I felt huge and uncomfortable. The dress I'd planned to wear didn't fit anymore. Neither did the next 3 outfits I tried on. In a panic I went in jeans and a tee shirt and did my makeup in the car. I showed up late to my own party. Oh well. Now my car is full of gifts that I can carry up the stairs. I'd much rather have done it earlier.

I had my shower Feb 24th and they were due the end of May. They came on May 14th.

I agree with pp, the earlier the better. You will enjoy it so much more when you can actively participate and move around. I had mine the end of Feb. and the beginning of March. I ended up on bedrest the end of March so the timing really worked out well! Have a great time and enjoy being pampered :)

I think 6 months would be perfect. I had a small one at 30 weeks, and I was pretty tired then, but I had the main one this past weekend at 32 weeks, and I was exhausted and relatively useless. I enjoyed it, but spent a lot of the time sitting in one place while people came up to talk to me. When it came to the gifts, I had my hubby open most of them, as I just couldn't bend down to unwrap or lift them. When it comes to twins, the earlier you have the shower, the better.

how fun! def have the shower early; you will want to decorate the nusery and after 30 wks you might not want to do as much.

Have a baby shower around 24-28 weeks tend to be the average. It's not too early at all and it will allow you to get some of your stuff put away before you begin tiring too quickly.
