I have never ever cut Brianna hair..she just turned 6.......she is not Brianna w/out long hair and she loves it also....but its just getting way to long and I have to put it up high all the time..esp when she is playing...no big deal pony tails work fine....
she never wants me to cut it then 2 days ago I ask and she said mom you can go ahead and came over and gave me her hair....I was no no no no no no........

she cant take bath becuz of it....her hair is much longer even wet it way past her butt..I just love her long hair but he ends are looking bad..I just dont want to lose the banana curls at the end..when i dont brush it dry it stays like that or if its in a pony it will all bunch together into one...

What would you do..... I will cry so bad when I do cut it...I want to donate it but I dont know if I can cut off that much yet..isnt it 6 inches???? and if I do will they be able to use the ends?????

I am going to try and post a pic of her from the behide hope it works...

What if you just cut it to the middle of her back so it's more manageable but still long?

I had hair to my mid-back until the summer before 7th grade. Then for some unknown reason, I got it cut above my shoulders. I HATED it, and I have never again been able to grow it long.

I know I would never go anything above her bottom of her shoulder blades...I want to cry just thinking about cutting it.

She does have beautiful hair! My 11yo had super-long hair, too. I think we cut it in the first grade. Nothing too traumatic, just a few inches off the bottom, to make it more manageable & healthy looking. If those are baby curls, you will probably lose them when you cut it - however, if her hair does have natural wave/curl, cutting it can take some weight off & let it curl more naturally. I believe you have to have 10" to donate to Locks of Love, but I could be wrong about that, and I don't think they care about the condition of the ends!

    Good luck with your decision.

I would let her think about if for a little longer and then bring it up again (don't mention it for a while either). My one daughter loves her long hair and has donated it, right now she is trying to grow down to her butt. She also loves getting her hair done and I am always trying to do something with it. You could also maybe just start out with an inch trim and see how she does. I know you would lose that curl on the end that you love but maybe it will grow back. Good luck with your and your daugthers decision, it's a tough one to make.

Exactly what I was going to say about the curl and the minimum for Locks of Love IS 10in, good guess Jamey! lol I still haven't cut Kayci's hair but it's getting to the point that I'm going to have to. The ends are so thin and wispy that they tangle and frizz very easily.

As a kid, my hair looked like hers. It was loooong and I loved it....for awhile.
As I got older it would get in the way and by third grade there were kids at school who would make fun of me for having such long hair. At that point I let my mom cut it so that is was just above my butt. This was much healthier for my hair since it got rid of the split ends and the ends that looked bad.
The end of it for me was while on the school bus at the end of third grade a boy stuck gum in my hair. I remember crying for so long when my mom had to cut it out. Because of it, I ended up with my hair at the bottom of my shoulder blades. Looking back it would have been much easier to choose to cut my hair instead of having to get it cut. It took some time and I liked having it shorter. It was still long enough to do things with and it didn't take so long to wash and care for. It stayed that length until I grew it long again in high school.
My hair is naturally very wavy and after it was cut, much more of the wave and curl came out for me since it wasn't so weighted down anymore.
It's hard to make the change, but hair grows back and even though you might lose those baby curls, her hair will probably be much healthier after the split ends are gone.
