Hi ladies i am 34 weeks pregnant with twins. I was wondering if any of you had very very bad diahrea (sp?) and this is tmi but when i say bad i mean like water coming out of your bum. Also i have been very nausous.(sp?) I couldnt even finish my sandwhich for lunch. Also i went to the doc yesterday adn i was only 1cm and half way thined out. Progress from last week. So i was sondering if any of you mommies had the same symptoms. Thnx soo much! Sorry if this has been asked before.

I remember in a previous pregnancy, that the diarrhea could be your body's way of "cleansing" in preparation to labor? I could be wrong...

Same thing happened to me when I went into labor at 23 weeks. I got a real tongue lashing from my peri for not notifying him that I had diarrhea b/c it can be a sign of early labor.

I'd call your doc. Could be labor. I got the bad poopydoos a couple days before I went into labor with all of my kids.

But can I just add, if it is a sign of labor, don't freak out - plenty of us have had our babies at 34 weeks (myself included) and all went just fine!!!! You could have some very exciting days coming up!

Sounds like early labor to me, I would definitely call the doctor. I remember the frequent bm's, remember you've got two in there and that's a lot of pressure on your intestines, etc. I delivered at 34 weeks also, but you do want to keep them inside you as long as possible.

Like PP's said it could be a sign of labour. If it;s not maybe a tummy bug? Either way, I would call you Dr.

    Good Luck!

It can be a sign of labor...it can also be a sign of an irritated uterus. My entire first trimester I was plagued with loose bowels about every 2-3 days due to tons of cramping related to my placenta bleeding. I checked with my doctor who confirmed that the intestines can be affected, much the same as some women have irritated bowels around the time of their AF...which I always have an issue with. So it could be that your body is responding like this if you are having some contractions or cramping....

On the other hand my system did completely flush itself when I went into labor with my dd... but you would know it... you would be feeling the contractions pretty strong...in fact I don't think dramatic flushing of your system usually happens until after you are feeling some hefty ctx.

On another hand... you might just have an intestinal bug... it's really hard to know... if you've had your cervix checked, and you aren't feeling ctx then you are probably okay.

It was a sign for me, along with a lovely menstrual-type backache.
