To all the Micro-Preemie mommies

My son is now 4 months and a couple days and I was wondering if you can remember what you little ones were doing around this age since they were born so early?? My son is just now starting to smile, we can get him to do it like 5x a day and thats it. He also can life himself up if hes on my chest and he can hold his head up pretty good. Dr's always say hes doing fine since his adjusted age is only a month and a couple days....but what were your preemies doing at this age??

oh by the way he is now 11 lbs and 21 1/2 in long wooohooo.....started out at 1 lb 15 oz and 13 1/2 in so we are making so much progress!

Actually that was about all Emily was doing at that time. Audrey on the other hand was still in the NICU then. She was almost 5 months old before she got out. My girls were born at 26 weeks weighing 1 lb 2 oz and 2 lbs 1 oz.

 

I think at that age all my girls were doing is smiling occasionally and kind of sort of lifting their heads. It sounds like he is doing great!!

 

Mine are 4 months, but they were born at 30 weeks. They just started smiling this week and it's not very frequently yet. They can hold themselves up with their arms for short periods, look around a lot, and have longer awake times. That;s about it. EI says we are on target for two months adjusted age so it sounds like you are on track.
