I woke up this morning with a stuffy nose and sore throat...that doesn't seem to get any better.
What is good to take? Benadryl just makes me anxious and restless! And as far as I know that is pretty much all I can take.
Any ladies have any remedies that are baby safe?

I just went to Jamba Juice and got a "coldbuster" smoothie :-/

I here you! I don't have one but my daughter who I've been counting on big time came down with one yesterday. I'm so afraid our family will get it or the new babies!

My Dr. has approved Sudafed for colds or Tylenol Sinus. Be sure to take some good ole Vitamin C along with your prenatals and rest!!! Hoping your well quickly!

Yes I am super worried about like, sneezing near the babies' things and it lingering a few weeks and them getting sick the minute they come home! How ridiculous is that?? I wont even throw tissues in the trash after I blow my nose, I flush them down the toilet- scared the germs will linger!!!
And I have slept in a different room than normal last night and today so that i didn't get near the baby things! hahaha

I'll ask my doc at the appt tomorrow. I've been trying with the vitamin C today!
    Thanks

    Hi,
I actually am just getting over the whole cold situation and I am 23 weeks with two boys. My doc said Tylenol Sinus. The only one prego women can take is the one with Pseudoephedrine (PSE) in it which is only located behind pharmacy counters. So ask your pharmacy for the Tylenol sinus Severe Congestion. It has the Acetaminophen in it for headaches and body aches, Guaifinesen in it to help with any chest congestion and helping it get out of your system and the PSE to help with any sort of Sinus congestion. Trust me it works great. I only took one pill a day during my most active time.

Also Try getting a Warm humidifier (I got one by Vicks) and putting it in your room it will also help with the babies not catching anything because it adds humidity in the air. Cold Germs survive in dry conditions and what better time of the year to get colds then the dryest time of the year during down season in the winter.

I have gotten much better than what I was but I also have to be careful because my BF mom thinks she may have pneumonia and I dont want to catch it. She is on an antibiotic but we will see.

I hope you feel better soon.

oh no i hope u feel better! i would just do a quick lysol spray on the surfaces; toys,toilets,ect- i know germs can linger for weeks:( I bought a all natural spray from the baby store that u can use on everything with no harmful chemicals-do u have disefectant pumps all around your house? its good to have a few around so the kids get use to pumping it into thier hands after they cough or sneeze-

My toddler just had a severe RSV and this was a reality check. Now she's better but she goes to daycare so she will bring home germs all the time. My colleague has a 3 month-old baby that came up with RSV as well (gotten from his 3 and 1/2 year-old sister who also goes to daycare). So, thinking of our future babies and newborns:

here are some recommendations from my pediatrician and OB:
    - everyone in the household should get a flu shot - I got mine yesterday, it was actually a little bit late because it can take 10 days to be immunized and my boys could come anytime-
    - everybody should wash their hands very often (for reluctant toddlers use hand sanitizers)
    - do not share cups, silverware, personal hygiene stuff like toothbrushes etc.
    - when the babies arrive, keep any sick person and in particular toddlers and school-aged children away from them, especially if they were born preemies

I'm trying not to stress out too much, but newborn and preemies are so fragile!....
