I feel like my son and daughter should be doing a lot better with solids and sippy cups. They will not drink out of sippy cups. As for solids... my son is doing a little better but I have to put the piece of food in his mouth - he won't pick it up. And my daughter still sometimes has troubles with Stage 2. If I put a piece of egg or banana or whatever in her mouth she just spits it out or occasionally swallows it hole. Any tips/tricks?

I am down to one nursing session a morning (early AM) and I still supplement. As for formula, they'll get 22oz - 28oz a day.

Have you tried doing the food before offering the formula or nursing? Different sippies...maybe straw sippies? Stage 2 foods are almost identical to the stage ones, only bigger jars, so if they aren't eating those well, they definately aren't ready for finger foods....unless, they are bored with the baby food? But you said they gag or swallow it whole...hmmmm. I would almost be inclined to talk to the ped about it, maybe they could give you some tips on getting them on more foods. They were about 6 weeks early though, so you do need to take that into account. Sorry for the rambling post! I would talk to your ped! :hug99:

I don't have any advice--I'm mostly in the same boat, and my kids are within a few weeks of yours adjusted. I like to think our kids are still perfectly normal for their age. I just keep offering finger foods, etc. and they slowly seem to warm to it, although they aren't experts yet. They don't understand sippy cups yet, either. :)

Mine are doing a good job with the finger foods. I would just continue to offer them at every meal. When mine are not eating some type of finger foods during a meal then I give them puffs afterwards just to continue the practice. Mine do have a difficult time getting fruits into their mouths. They do great with puffs, cheerios, pancakes, waffles, toasts, quesdillas, etc.

They are not doing as well with their sippies. However, I just continue to offer them and show them. I'm hoping they'll catch on soon.

Just continue doing everything and try not to get frustrated.

My advice is (if you can) relax and try and make mealtimes fun. No child will starve themselves, they are getting enough to eat. I bought this book and it is so awesome, it helped me calm down and relax about it all. Now they eat pretty well. Child of Mine: Feeding with Love and Good Sense [Paperback] by Satter, Ellyn. By the by, mine still only drink a bit of water out of their sippy cups but I am trying not to stress or get them stressed about it all.

I just wanted to reiterate that you are not alone. My little guys are doing well with the finger foods but it didn't come suddenly. Also, I have one that is completely oblivious to the sippy cup and pretty much flat out refuses it. I am not sure if it is because he is teething or if he is just not interested but I am hoping that with time he will get it. My other little guy has caught on really quick to the sippy and is taking it like a champ! :) Just be patient even though I know it is hard, and I am sure they will come around.

No advice since we are exactly in the same place. I just keep on offering. Somedays are better then others...somedays we get more on the highchairs, wall and me then in the belly! :p I am thinking at one point they will get it, if not, off to college I go with them to feed them. OH I hope not! :D As for finger foods, they will play with food and then toss it. My dd actually looks at it with disgust! I don't know if they are my kids because I love food!!! ;) Good luck!
