as daylight savings time is coming up so quickly & it often really messes with our LOs schedules, i wanted to pass on a tip that we got last fall that worked really well for us. starting 3 days before the actual time change, begin shifting your schedule by 15 minutes. so this year, for example, if you have a 7:00pm bedtime, on march 5 you would put your LOs down at 6:45pm & shift the rest of their schedule accordingly, then on march 6 you would put your LOs down at 6:30pm & shift the rest of their schedule accordingly, etc. this way the change is gradual & doesn't throw as much of a wrench in their schedule & by the time we lose the actual hour, babies are acclimatized. in the fall, you would do the process in reverse, moving everything 15 minutes later each day.

[SIZE=24pt]O.k., I'm so challenged when it comes to these things, but wouldn't it be the reverse? Since we lose an hour wouldn't you want to start pushing their times ahead by 15 minutes so when you lose that hour you're still at the same time?

    I'm so confused. . . I need to write it out, I'm a visual learner ;o))

You'll make things later for the LOs if you did that. It's about 8:51 AM right now.. day light we loose an hour so it would be 9:51 am.... that would mean you're an hour behind already!!!!!!

Uggh. Not looking forward to this but thanks so much for the tip! This is the first year in Canada we've done the spring ahead so early, we usually do it in April.....I'm not ready for it, although I will enjoy the extra sunlight at nightime!
