I have had tingling fingers for the past month or two. I am sure it is some form of carpal tunnel brought on by the pregnancy. I happened to mention it to my ob the other day who said "don't worry, it should go away after you have the babies." SHOULD go away, is she nuts???? It better go away. The tingling, barely there feeling in my fingertips is bareable only because I am preggo; however, please tell me it definitly goes away after the babies come...

am I the only one feeling this or is it pretty common?

[SIZE=10pt]I've been feeling it constantly for the last 6 weeks. I also asked my OB and she said that it would go away after delivery. Mine is mostly in my right hand. It's to the point that I can't even write more than 4-5 words and I have to stop. It's taking me FOREVER to write out my Thank You notes from my shower last weekend. And I have another one next Thursday

IT WILL GO AWAY!! caused from weight gain/fluid retention of pregnancy, it took a few weeks after I delivered for it to go though. If you have acess to getting massage therapy this will help especially after the baby (of course I know that will be difficult to find the time).

    Good luck to you.

I had the same problem for several weeks and it did go away, but for me it did take some time. I remember asking about it at my 6 week appt. and shortly after that it was gone. If I hold a pen for a while now, like writing thank yous or in baby books or something, they start to tingle again, but it goes away once I stop writing. My OB said it was fluid.

Yeah, mine lasted for about 6 weeks after the birth. So annoying! I couldn't even hold a cell phone without my hand tingling. It does get better though!!!

  7. I had it the worst with my first. I couldn't even hopld up my blowdryer, it drove me nuts. It didn't go away roght after birth, but it did go away eventually.

I had that with my first pregnancy & it did go away a few days after she was born. BUT--it did get slightly worse in the hospital--both of my hands blew up before the swelling went down & the tingling stopped. I'm sure you keep hearing this--but--drink lots of water!!!!! We took video of my "man hands" when I was still in the hospital. Hope it eases up for you!

I'm having issues with carpal tunnel right now....my hands and fingers are really swollen, and in the morning, they're so stiff and painful that I can barely bend them. I didn't have this at all with my first pregnancy.....

I drop things all day long because I can't grip anything, and then I can't bend over to pick them up. It's quite comical.

My OB said I could try sleeping in wrist splints to see if that helps, but that it doesn't always work. Otherwise, there's not much you can do. I surely hope it goes away as soon as possible after these munchkins come!
