?

Would you ...

  1. just deal with it. Leave her in the crib until she can hold it.

  2. convert to toddler bed, so that she can go to the toilet by her self.

The last 3-4 mornings Alexis is waking up and taking her pj bottoms off and removing her diaper. if she remains quiet then I don't go in there till 7-730 when we normally start our day. And sometimes by then she has peed/pooped all over the sheet/blanket of the crib.

I'm not sure if I think toddler beds will help. Do you think she's ready to get herself to the potty in the morning by herself? If so, it will solve the pee in the bed problem. But, if you don't get up to get her right away, then she'll wander around the house by herself. Maybe that's not a concern with your girls, but it definitely was with my boys at that age. Which is one reason I kept mine in cribs as long as possible.

Anyway, just some thoughts. Good luck!

I would also try to get her to leave her diaper on via duct tape. I don't think that she should be moved to a toddler bed. At two I moved mine to toddler beds but I kept a gate on their door so they couldn't get out and wander the house. I would be more worried about her getting into something she shouldn't in the bathroom or elsewhere in the house than her taking her diaper off. Try the duct tape.

Have you started potty training? If not, I would not convert the bed just because of this because she would probably still do the same thing -- take the diaper off where she is and poop and/or pee. But, my girls are around the same age as yours and we transitioned them to toddler beds about 2 months ago and they have done great in the toddler beds. They actually sleep beter in the beds (but we were having problems in the cribs). FWIW, my pediatrician recommended the following order -- stop pacifier, transition out of crib to bed, then potty train. We have made it through the first two transitions and hope to start on potty training in the next couple of weeks.
