tight tummy after eating

Hi Everyone,

Does your tummy tighten after you eat? I just finished dinner and my whole tummy is tight....any thoughts?

 

I don't know if it's the same thing, but I have Braxton Hicks all the time, and I've noticed that one of the (many) things that triggers them is when I have just eaten a large meal.

 

Is it a contraction? Does it tighten and then loosen?

it does tighten and loosen and then tighten again. Do you think it could contractions brought on by a large meal like the last post?

 

sounds like a contraction to me. i get them more often in the evenings/nightime. drinking lots of water can help, but you will still get them off and on,

I had a lot of BH's at that point in the pregnancy. Just movement alone would bring them on. I don't remember having more after I ate. Make sure you are counting them, and not having more than 6 an hour, or whatever your ob recommends.

 

This happens to me too when I have eaten more than my stomach can handle. I notice if I eat smaller meals more often than I do not end up with this tightness and uncomfortable feeling. I do not know if it is BH I just figured there is not much room in there so when my stomach is full I really feel it. I have no idea if this is right but it makes sense in my mind.

 

From about 30 weeks and beyond, I would get BH every single night...usually after 5 pm. I don't think mine had anything to do with eating too much. Just keep an eye on them.
