I think my girls are both going to be thumbsuckers. They are constantly sucking on their hands even if they are not hungry. Sofie has found her thumb a couple times but Maia usually only gets her knuckles or pointy finger.

How old are they when they can consistently find their thumbs??

They'll probably find their thumbs in the next month or two....my little girl is a thumbsucker, and by 3 or 4 months, was consistently finding it. I can't remember exactly when. My DS sucks his fist somewhat, but not consistently -- I wish he would, because he's not nearly as good at self-soothing as his sister.

My older DD found her thumb very early on, before 2 months, I think. She is still an avid thumbsucker!

Both of my girls are thumbsuckers and I think they started consistently finding them around 3-4 months too. ^_^

I thought for sure that my daughter would be one... Nope... she takes a paci somewhat but my little boy was about 4 months old. Around that age he started and now he is a full blown thumbsucker... ;) Funny thing - i never thought he would be, all the sudden it just started...

Elizabeth started finding it all the time at 3 months. Thomas started finding it at 4 months when we took his paci away!

4 months for us. I found it interesting that one quit when he started teething at 8 months and the other still sucks when he's very tired or stressed. He's cut way back, though.

3.5 to 4 months for them to consistently get them and what a lifesaver that was! No more all night binky re-insertions!!! I did have to sort of "teach" them how to hold it in there though.

Same as pp, my kids found them (they are finger suckers not thumb suckers) around 3-4 months. It was and still is a great help with my DD and getting her to go to sleep. As soon as she finds her fingers, she is off to dreamland. My DS has outgrown it but my DD is still a big finger sucker.

I thought DS would be a thumb sucker too, but he still prefers sucking the back of his hand, always has, who knows if he'll ever find his thumb.
