DD has a sore/blister on her thumb from sucking it during the night is there anything I can put on it during the day?
I tried switching and giving her a paci during the night but, she only chews on it.

    Thanks!

Try some lanolin! (Aka breastfeeding cream.) It's very soothing to the skin, super sticky, and perfectly safe to ingest. I also have a big time thumb sucker, and that helps her a lot.

Great suggestion! I have a mega-thumb sucker but so far she hasn't gotten a sore.. however I will hang onto that tube of lanolin I have just in case it happens.

I was told to save my Lanolin after I quit bfing for this purpose! Luckily my DS doesn't "SUCK" his thumb that hard. He just kinda puts it in his mouth & chews/sucks his blankie/thumb. It's hard to describe, but it's definitely not a strong enough suck to create a sore!

Honestly, I just couldn't see what I could really do about it. My one dd has been sucking her index finger since she was about 6 months old. She use to also get a yucky blister on her finger that just looked like it must hurt but she was sucking her finger so often that I didn't see the point of putting something on it that would just keep getting sucked off. So, I left it alone. If it was hurting her too much she would try to suck the finger on her other hand for a little while but usually went back to her regular finger. Now she pretty much has a permanent callous on that finger. Now and then she will say "ouch" but I'm not sure if it really hurts her or she sees something on her finger that looks like an ouch. She still sucks it very often so it can't hurt THAT much.
