Does anyone know what I should do? I am just over 35 weeks and I'm having a bad flare up. I thought that if I stayed off my feet the roids would get better but now it appears that TWO of the bunch are really starting to hurt & turning that bluish purplish color that typical indicates Thrombosed roids. I have another OB appointment in 3 days but I'm so scared that I may go into labor before the appointment and I will be in torture because these roids will get much worse after all the pushing. But what can they do for me at this point anyway? Can they lance the thrombosed ones? I know I have had thrombosed roids before. They REALLY hurt but slowly went away on their own after about a week of just laying around, warm baths & tucks. Please help!! I am sooo scared. This is my first pregnancy and I think that labor will hurt bad enough, I really don't want thrombosed roids to deal with also.

Can't help you with the labor/pain/torture since this is my first pregnancy also, but yes, they can lance thrombosed ones, that I know. I'm not sure with being so close to your due date if the docs would want to, I guess it depends on who you see and what they are comfortable with. In the mean time, warm baths and Tucks. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon! Erica.
You poor thing. It seems like a lot of us are experiencing the joy of the roids lately. Being so close to delivery I would feel just like you--scared out of my mind! I don't have any clue what they will tell you to do, but I'm just hoping you get some relief soon. Please let us know what your dr. decides to do!! In the meantime, good luck! Reyna
I hope that the doc can help you! I feel your pain! To be truthful too, when I delivered my dd vaginally, after all the pushing I did get a hemorrhoid. It actually was the most painful part of me "down there" following delivery. Do you have a sitz bath? That might help too, although I guess it's very similar to just a warm bath, huh? GOOD LUCK!
Okay, as embarassing as this may sound...I had a really bad flare up a few weeks ago. I talked with the Dr and they told me how horribly painful it is to have them cut & drained or lasered...They suggested using vaseline or something of that sorts and actually pushing them back in. It sounds really gross, but between doing that and using prep-h spread on a tucks pad (which you can leave "stuck" there) it actually worked. I felt a lot better with in a day! Good luck!
Katherine, my doc said not to use prep. H this close to delivery. I'm glad you were able to use it & it helped you!!! That's wonderful! Pregnancy is full of embarrassing things, huh? LOL!
Thanks to everyone for responding. I showed my DH last night & he was in shock at how bad it is down there. He called it a "Mushroom Cloud" I have about 10 roids and two are really tender but they are not quite blue like the thrombosed ones I have had in the past. DH wanted me to call the doc today (Sunday) but I decided to give it one more day and see what happens. I took two Tylenol last night and that helped a lot. I'm going to continue with the warm baths, tucks & laying down all day today. If it still hurts tomorrow...some lucky doctor will be looking at my lovely "Mushroom Cloud" . Thanks to everyone!! I'll let you know what happens.
I just had my thromosed hemorrhoids lanced this past wed. and I am still hurting! They are getting a little smaller, but I looked at them in the mirror last night and I think that either they have gotten more clots or they didn't get them all out to begin with. The idea of having them cut out again makes me want to scream!!!! I wish that I had more to tell you, but my doctor said that once they get the clots there is not much you can do for them other than having them lanced. I don't know what the difference would be since you are so close to delivery. Good luck at the doctor tomorrow and please let me know what they say. It may help me too!
