I came across this looking for something else. My chin nearly hit the floor. After I my head stopped spinning I couldn't stop laughing and just had to share it with all of you. From time to time we all need a good laugh, right? Enjoy this one. This was a pamphlet handed out to young girls I think it said in the 30's?

Given my current emotional state, my computer almost just made a trip through the kitchen window. :grr:

I did, however, find the humor in it and thank you for sharing!

Oh, I had to laugh when I saw this. One of my friends gave that list to me at one of my bridal showers along with a lovely broom and dust mop set. I need new friends :p

I can't even believe they use to have that mentality! I think I would have been a very heavy drinker!

It is worth a laugh, but it's also a fake.

    from snopes...

"We know the graphic reproduced above (supposedly from the 13 May 1955 edition of a magazine called Housekeeping Monthly) is a fabrication: It didn't first appear until well after the "How to Be a Good Wife" list had begun circulating via e-mail, and it's clearly a mock-up produced by adding the text of the e-mail around an image taken from a 1957 cover of John Bull magazine. (The image itself even bears an "Advertising Archives" legend along its side, indicating its source.)"

\Wow, do you really think most women were like that back then? I would have been happily alone if that were the case. I'm so blessed to have a husband that loves me no matter what, even when my hair is a mess, I smell like baby puke, still in my jammies at 5pm sometimes, wearing red fuzzy socks. And not only does he love me, but he is an equal partner in our marriage. He helps so much with the kids and the babies. He'll even cook sometimes. That pamphlet made me cringe... but you know I picked up a book at a Christian book store that was selling these exact same ideas and this was a modern book.

    I  Snopes.

I was sent this same thing more than 10 years ago by my former boss who wanted to see me go ballistic. ;)

I don't recall how I originally ran across it, but I printed it out to bring home and share with my wife (fortunately she has a good sense of humor). It still lives posted on the refrigerator, and we still get the occasional chuckle out of it.
