I need some shopping tips, please! Alisha is a girly girl when it comes to dressing - lots of pink, and she always wants to wear a dress or skirt. But I haven't found good options for her to wear underneath - she has a couple of pairs of leggings, but they are baggy on her (and she's not a tiny girl, lol) - i would love to find some really fitted leggings for her, or alternately some fun patterned tights. i usually shop at the boring chain stores - baby gap, gymboree, old navy, sometimes children's place but i don't really like their stuff.

so where do you buy your dd fun things to wear under skirts/ tights? thanks!

I'm not much help--because we live in a different country.
But I did find some really fun patterned tights here, so they must be in the US too.
My girls are REAL girlie too. So unlike me. I have to BEG them to where pants to hike in the mountains. They want to wear dresses with long full skirts every single day.

Children's place has capri length tights with a ruffle at the bottom. Some are plain and some are patterned!! They are really cute and comfy!

    Hi there!

Trumpette makes some realllllly cute tights camoflauge tights (they come in pink, purple and magenta) - they are ADORABLE!!!!!
I bought them for my little girls & cannnnnnot wait till they are big enough to wear them!

I bought mine at sleepytimestore.com, sometimes they have 20% sales, which is nice :)

I get a lot of the dresses and swing tops with leggings at Gymboree. If Alicia is in a 3T yet, try buying the Kid Girl size 3 leggings. Those seem to fit skinnier than the Baby Girl ones. I also bought some capri length leggings at WalMart of all places! They are Garanimal brand and were only $2.99 or so. They wore those the other day with a Hanna Andersson top and skirt, talk about brand mixing! Speaking of Hanna, of course that's a good place for leggings and dresses, although it can be a bit pricey.

I also have put bike shorts under dresses, now that the weather is warming up. I have been informed that "Princesses don't wear pants" so we are big time into dresses and skirts here! Oh, I also got Babylegs for them when leggings don't work with the skirt. I really like The Children's Place yoga skort and tee shirt sets too.

ETA- I forgot about tights! TCP has decent tights, some neat patterns too. Hanna has great tights, of course expensive, but they are high quality. I've never been thrilled with Gymboree tights. I've actually gotten some cute tights at Dollar Tree.

You could try footless tights - they are really great. Gymboree sells them, but I know you can find them at other stores, too. Shayla wears these a lot under her casual skirts or dresses.

I usually try to buy the skorts (skirts with the shorts attached) for the summer but for the winter I got some nice tights with colorful stipes at Walmart I have also seen them at The Childrens Place. I just saw some capri tights/leggins at Sears (in the Rockaway mall if you shop there), they were black but not sure how many they had there.

I got a couple pairs for the girls at Walmart and they were really small for size. That may be an option for you. They were just the Walmart store brand, not even Garanimals.

our osh kosh outlet had really skinny leggings last fall. You could try them. And Hanna Anderson has lots of funky tights (more expensive but great quality!) try online if there is not a store near you. I believe shipping is free from any hanna anderson store as long as the item is not on sale.

Almost all stores have them and they are usually very fitted if they have spandex in them. The only ones that are a liittle baggy are the hanna anderson ones, maybe because they are 100% cotton. We havea couple from Target (Circo brand), that are cute.

Carters has leggings too. We have a few stores around here. I LOVE their clothes!

Hanna Anderson has some great tights. Kind of pricey, but can sometimes find them on sale. I just search the internet and can sometimes find cute tights here and there.

I have a skinny minny and I think that Hanna Andersson tights have been the best. I also have Gymboree and TCP tights, too. Nothing stands up to Hanna quality, IMO. My DD has ruined tights in an afternoon from other stores.

I second Babylegs. These are SO fabulous. I also bought some for my DS. I think they are cute. :)

thanks everyone! here are my reactions/ experiences:
    - Hannah Anderson - I do like their tights, but not their leggings (too baggy around the thighs) (my mom lives near a HA outlet and always buys us great stuff at the outlet for amazing prices - love that!)
    - Gymboree - leggings also do not fit us well - but Kelly, thanks for the tip on the kid girl sized ones - i'll try that
    - Children's place - I will try those capri ones - thanks Di!
    - Trumpettes - never heard of them - i'll check them out - thanks tamaras!
    - Walmart - sadly, there is not a single one anywhere near me :(
    - Babylegs - I do remember hearing about these for babies - never thought about them for toddlers - thanks for the idea Kelly and naomi!

i think for now i'll just try to find some capri ones since the weather is nicer, but i'm going to keep my eye out for sales on ones for next year!

We love the footless OshKosh leggings! My girls were so skinny, the were some of the only things that fit them, so we wore them as pants with long shirts (all OshKosh). They're great!!! The closets OshKosh outlet to us is where we go on vacation every year, so I usually stock up when we go.

I was going to suggest the Trumpette ones as well. Hailey outgrew her socks, and this just reminded me today to go buy some more ... and a few pairs of those ADORABLE tights!!

I have found some really cute and reasonably priced leggings at PayLess.

The cutest ones of all come from Hannah Anderssen but they are $$$.
