I know they are still babies but whenever I take them out people come up to me and say "Oh...one boy and one girl, how nice" Um..no..it's two girls. I guess the pink and purple jackets weren't very obvious. ;)

It happens alllll the time, it's not really annoying but I just am surprised at how many people think it's a boy and a girl. I always have something pink or purple on them and I guess that doesn't help. Maybe people think if you guess a boy and a girl, you get at least one right.

Does this happen to anyone else??

    I get, "Two girls?"
When I clearly have one in pink and one in blue...

    LOL

Yes! I get that A LOT, and I also get "two boys"! I have pink toys hanging on their car seats and usually have them in girly colors. Once, I stopped a woman who asked me "two boys?" and asked her why she thought that--she said it was the color of the stroller (turquoise and brown) and assumed boys. I have rarely had people guess two girls...I feel you!

Yes! I have two boys, and people will say, "A boy and girl?" even if they are dressed in blue! One is smaller but that is from TTTS. . . but maybe that's what's doing it.

When the boys were younger I always got boy and a girl, It used to make me soooooo mad, I made sure I dressed them in blue when we went out and blue blankets and that still didnt work! Now that they are older they have changed in looks more like little boys than babies and no one says it anymore! I think most people speak before they think

I get "a boy and a girl?" ALL THE TIME! At first I thought it was b/c their car seats and stroller are turquoise and chocolate brown, but now they both have their ears pierced, so would I really pierce a boy's ears with pink earrings?

Constantly, especially since I didn't pay much attention to whether they were wearing boy clothes or girl clothes. For one thing, I liked the variety of not having everything be pink -- also, we got lots of hand-me-downs. I didn't really mind, although it was interesting that people usually seemed to think Amy was the boy....

I think some people just can't conceive of a set of twins that aren't "one boy, one girl."

All.the.freaking.time when they were little. One has a little more hair then the other and I would always get "awww, a boy and a girl", uh, no the pink, frilly dresses have you confused or what?? Luckily, it stopped when they were about 1.5 or so.

Yep! My boys are identical and for some reason everyone thinks one is a boy and one is a girl. Usually people think Gavin is a girl....so weird.

All the time...not as much anymore, but for the first 8 months poor Sydney got called a boy on a regular basis.
Pink is my favorite color & they are pretty much dressed in it every single day from head to toe...not sure where the confusion comes from? :umm:
I bought her a shirt that said 'I am NOT a boy' :)

When I see a baby & am unsure I just day 'ohhh cute baby!!!' instead of picking one or the other :)

Happens to me all the time too! I have 2 girls who are always dressed in girl colors and I always get- Oh and boy and a girl? Or 2 boys?... errg

Happens to me all of the time, too.

I've noticed that if I don't have both boys in blue - then people assume they are b/g twins. The "blue" one is the boy and the brown/grey/red/green/yellow one is the girl.

yup! people often assume Riley's a boy - i think partly because of her name. originally i tried to avoid too much pink, but now tend to put her in lots of pink just to avoid confusion! it doesn't really bother me though - she has no idea, and i figure nobody's doing it maliciously (sp?). :)

Happens here all the time too. Usually people don't even ask, they just say,"How lucky! A boy and a girl!". After we correct them the next thing they say is, "Poor dad!". That's worse because it makes me feel like they think DH doesn't like having 5 girls. I know that's not what they mean, but still.

We are still getting this and they are nearly two. People often think Jae is a boy because she is quite a bit bigger. But I also often get, "two boys?" They don't have a lot of hair and aren't always dressed overtly feminine so I just usually tell people as soon as they say, "twins?" "Yup. Two girls." It's funny, but people still often feel the need to say, "Oh, i thought they were boys."

Exactly. I would have thought pink/purple would make it obvious but it doesn't.

I get it all the time: "one of each!" and they are clearly both dressed as boys and they also both look like boys.

I also get, "Twins are great! That means you're finished having children!"

I got the two boys thing all the time because my girls had absolutely no hair until well after the age of one. The funniest was when we were in a restaurant and an older man said, "cute boys." and his wife hit him in the arm and said, "can't you see they're in pink!!" He just looked at her and said, "I don't pay attention to clothes." It was really funny.

I have two girls and get the "awee, a boy and a girl" when they are both sitting in their carriers and wearing pink! I know the carriers hide some of their clothing, but geeish. I don't get offended, but get tired of saying "No, I have two girls." ha! It seriously happens once just about every time we are out and about.

    Summer

    ALL THE TIME.

'one boy one girl?' OR 'two boys!' .. and they're decked out in pink, green, and red.

Get's a little annoying, but hey - I don't take it personal. They ARE little baldies ^_^

Yes ALWAYS "a boy and a girl ?" the odd time I get "are they ID" after explaining that they are two girls. I thought maybe a boy/girl combo was the most desired of all twin possiblilities and that would by why they always ask. but yes they will be in matching pink outfits and I get boy and a girl.... I did get asked if they were two boys dressed in bright yellow but I just said YES and moved along. no time to explain.
