Well it is booked for this Thursday. I am scared to death. He will be put to sleep by a Pediatric Anesthesiologist and monitired by a Pediatric Nurse Anesthitist (sorry about the spelling) Our surgeon is highly recommended and I am sure it will all go fine.

He will be getting the tubes put in and his adenoids out. I surely hope that this helps him.

We go for bloodwork at 2:00 (which I am not looking forward to) and Thursday is the big day.

Now I just need to figure out what to do with Elizabeth while we are there.

Thanks for listening. (say a prayer for him)

I will be thinking about you on Thurday. I am sure all will be fine, though I understand how scary. Claire will have to put under for her blocked tear duct. It is about a two minute procedure and she will have to be put under for it so she is not wiggling around. Not looking forward to it.

:hug99: Meara had surgery on friday and the worst parts were handing her over to the nurse when they brought her in to the OR and when she was in recovery coming out of anesthesia. The anesthesiologist warned us that little ones are very disoriented and may cry for up to a half hour because of this. That was hard, but at least we knew to expect this. GL on thursday and let us know how your little man is afterward. :hug99:

Wow, that was FAST! I'll say EXTRA SPECIAL prayers for Thomas (and Mama, too) on Thursday! I'm already dreading Aiden's surgery in August, so I'd lie if I said something like "Be Strong Mama!" because I know I'm going to be a puddle of goo when I hand him off to the OR nurse. Our hospital doesn't have a Pediatric Anesthesiologist OR Anesthetist, so you're lucky there. He'll be in excellent hands...2nd to Mama's, of course!

As for Elizabeth, do you have family that can watch her so you can focus your day on Thomas? My MIL is coming up to watch Conner the day of Aiden's surgery (not my first pick, but DH said yes the second she offered). I've heard of some people bringing the other twin, but I'd try not to if you can arrange it.

Keep us posted. Hopefully they're able to numb him up for his labwork today. We have numbing cream we put on before labs at our hospital, so if they didn't mention it, I'd DEFINITELY ask!

    Hang in there, Big T!

Well the blood work was easy. He was too curious to notice it hurt. He barely made a peep. Such a strong boy! As for a sitter in looks like MIL and FIL are coming to watch her. It is a 4 hour drive for them. Very nice of them. :) Elizabeth is not allowed. :-(

:hug99: I hope everything goes smoothly and as planned for you guys. Our DS's surgery two weeks ago went very well and the whole process was well coordinated. We did have daycare to take DD to, but DH wasn't able to be there with us before the surgery. I have a wonderful friend that met me there at 5 am :icon_eek: We could have taken DD, but she could not go into recovery with us at all.

My DS was so happy to have all kinds of attention. He was smiling at all the nurses as they took him off to surgery. Waking up was a bit rough and he was upset at first. So the nurse gave him some pain meds and I cuddled him until he drifted back to sleep again. When he woke the second time he was in much better spirits and smiled at us immediately. The nurse said that is very normal with babies bc they feel funny and don't know what to do but cry and when they wake the second time it is more like waking from a nap.

(sorry if I repeated something someone else said. I didn't read all the replies.)
