I've got an ultrasound scheduled for Wed and an OB appt on Thurs.

I'm pretty excited, because I delivered my twins at 36w3d, which is Tues for this pregnancy. I'm excited to pass by when I delivered last time! I'm determined to make it to my c-section date on Aug 11th!

I have a peri appointment in about 1.5 hrs :woo: ... it should be interesting as my iron levels have fallen off the charts & I've got the PUPPPS.

I always look forward to the u/s though; I call it Baby TV. Ahh the perks of twin-mommyhood.

I have my final growth ultrasound on Friday to make sure baby B isn't over 10% bigger than baby A so we can still have our induction and breech extraction on Monday. One more week!!!!! I cannot wait!

We've got a peri appointment bright and early tomorrow morning (7:15...yawn) and an OB appointment on Thursday. I haven't been to the perinatologist in 3 weeks, so it will be interesting to see what my cervix is like. I've been a LOT more active compared to before the last one.

Edited to add: Good luck serialmommy!!

A breech extraction is only done with a vertex baby a and breech baby b. After baby a is born vaginally, the doctor will reach up into my uterus and grab baby b by the feet and pull her out.

I seen my doctor today and all the results were in! All my blood tests and diabetes test were good! Nothing going on there! My ultrasound results show that Twin A has an irregular heartbeat (pacs). He has an extra beat once in awhile. If that makes sense. I am told that it is normal in a twin pregnancy and it doesn't mean anything is wrong. I am officially on medical leave until the babies are born and then I will switch over to Mat leave so I will get the spend the whole first year with them! So hopefully I make it to 38 weeks and get to spend 14 months at home! My son is happy that mommy gets to stay home and doesn't need to work anymore! All in all it wasn't too bad!

gah! Something happened and my post *poofed* We had an early perinatologist appointment that started early this morning (it was a long one) and it was pretty good! Baby A weighed in at 4 lb 12 oz and B is an even 5 pounds. They also checked for practice breathing on both of them for the first time - A cooperated but B didn't. Because of that, they had us do a NST to make sure all was well with B. Both babies passed that with flying colors. A ended up the day with a 10/10 and B an 8/10. The coolest thing was that we got to see Baby A open his eyes! We even have a 3-D picture of him with his little eyes open!! The only downside to the day was that the &%$* chair I had to sit in for the NST, while others might find comfy, was not comfy for me and made my irritable uterus grouchy. Add to that the fact that I was supposed to take my procardia at 8:30 (our appointment was at 7:15, I figured I'd be home in time to take it) but I didn't take it with me. I didn't get to take it until almost 10:00. My grouchy uterus has mostly calmed down now, but usually is very good in the mornings. There was another woman there getting a NST at the same time as me (she was having just one baby but was a week overdue) and they all came rushing in at one point, put her on oxygen and started an IV - about 2 minutes later, they moved her to an ultrasound room right next door with the doctor where she stayed until an ambulance came to take her to the hospital (just around the corner) to have her baby! Apparently his heart rate was dropping, so he was obviously NOT going to pass the NST. Geesh...nobody mentions how stressful pregnancy is!!!

We had our 34-week NST on Monday - both babies passed with flying colors. Since NST showed quite a few contractions for me, I am now officially out of work (trying to tie up a few loose ends remoting in from home this week and next). I am with the pp - NSTs are not comfortable for me either! My skin is pulled/stretched so tightly around my stomach that having all of those monitors strapped on and moved around really makes it uncomfortable - lots of burning.

We go back on Thursday for our second biophysical and another NST. Sometimes I feel like we live at the doctor's office.

I had my 34 week appointment today - Wednesday. My last appointment was at 32 weeks - I got to cancel last week's because my OB thought everything looked so fabulous ... My cervix was 3.5 cm two weeks ago and today I was 90% effaced and 1 cm dilated. The babies weigh approximately 5 lbs. 1 oz. and 5 lbs. 3 oz. via ultrasound. Although they have both been vertex for a long time, A has flipped back to vertex. I am a c-section girl, though, so it doesn't matter - just interesting because I think I felt him flip on Saturday afternoon.

My OB guesstimates that I have a 20% chance of making it to my 9/1 goal ... I don't really care as long as they have lungs that work (and everything else too, of course, but lungs are my biggest fear).

i'm glad to see everyone's appointments are going well...i'm not sure HOW i did it, but i got out of having nst's twice a week....i just never brought it up and considering the pg is going well and i wasn't dilating and the babies were always moving and what not, no one ever thought to tell me to do them! i'm SO glad about that! i agree about them being super uncomfortable..i know i have to get monitored when i go in friday morning (why do they do that? isn't it kind of redundant? i'm there to have surgery to have them taken out already anyway), and i'm not really looking forward to that..i know i'm going to be grouchy as it is...first thing in the moring, i'm not a morning person, no food, no water...i had better warn jason to be super nice to me or i might bite his head off a time or two!

Well my check up went good yesterday. He did a small ultrasound with a portable machine just to check things out like fluids, etc and movement. They were active and he said they had plenty of fluid.

Yesterday was the 1st time he measured my stomach and I am measuring at 34 weeks which he said is normal ( 5 weeks ahead). I go back Monday after next (Aug 10) for another real u/s to check their growth and weight then at that time he will decide to pull me out of work or let me go another week and play it by ear. So far he said for a twin pregnancy I am doing extremely well!

ARGH! I am really not happy with my OB.... Today we had our appointment with her (after Peri on Tuesday) and she told us again that she thinks we should deliver these babies sometime next week (though we're still set for the 13th when I'm 36 weeks). She actually said that she is worried about getting blamed for a fetal death if we go ONE WEEK beyond when she thinks they should be born and is going to ask the perinatologist to give her his recommendation for that date in writing. GAH! :catfight: That just confirms to me and DH that she is more concerned about malpractice suits than she is about me and the babies. I would so find another doctor if I weren't so far along in my pregnancy. We actually asked the perinatologist if he still does deliveries and he said that while he could, he wouldn't because that would kill their maternal/fetal practice. He actually told us on Tuesday that while 36 is good, 37 would have been his preference so he was compromising with his partner and the OB at 36.

Anyhow, appointment today was good - heartrates were good, my b/p was good so all seems to be going well.

I had a growth scan today (tomorrow will be exactly 29 weeks).

    Baby A is 2 lbs, 8 oz (34th percentile) & Baby B is 2 lbs, 13 oz (45th percentile).
Baby A gained 15 oz in a month and Baby B gained 1 lb, 2 oz in a month.

The ultrasound tech did everything then said she needed to run some of the numbers by the doctor. She did and then told me to schedule my next growth scan for a month out (so 32 weeks). This was the 1st time she ever "ran" anything by the doctor, but I guess everything was fine cause I was sent on home.

Babies passed biophysicals (10/10) and NSTs again without issue. The only issue was all of my contractions - they recorded 6 during my 1/2 hour NST. I was also having quite a few at my Monday visit. Although, just like on Monday, no dialation or any other signs of labor. I was sent home to lay down and hydrate - if I can keep the contractions under control we are going to keep on this path. If I get more than 1 every 10 minutes, supposed to go back to L&D to stop them. At 34 weeks, I'm measuring 42... the nurses commented that my stomach looks "mad and angry" it is so stretched and red. As both babies have been measuring on target and ahead (baby B was 1.5 weeks ahead of a singleton at last growth scan), my body may be reaching its limits.

So, looks like I'm on the couch to drink water and rest until these babies get here.
