I've got an appointment with the OB on Wednesday. Should be "interesting" since it's our first one since she called me and said she wanted to deliver the babies at 34.5 weeks based on a recommendation from the peri. I called the peri the next day and found out he recommended 35-36 weeks, not 34-35 like she said. I hope I have the guts to win this one (i.e., even though it's not comfortable, keep these babes in there longer than 34.5 weeks). Wish us luck!!

Good luck Molly! I'm sure everything will be just perfectly wonderful!!!

AS FOR ME - I am 19 weeks today and I have my anatomy scan tomorrow! I'm crazy excited to find out what we are having becuase it means that we can start on the nursery and call them names instead of baby A and baby B! I couldn't be more happier!

Got any tips on making sure the babes cooperate?!

I was told by a colleague that a sugary drink before hand helps. I had a large sprite and they certainly were moving and cooperated with legs open! They were moving a little too much for the tech to get good measurements on everything; we were there forever! Guess maybe a medium sprite would have done he trick :p

I have an ultrasound on Friday just to check their growth and measurements. I am also going to ask if they are both boys like she said or if maybe she was wrong! Lol! But I am excited to see my lil guys again no matter! Its very interesting to watch them play during the ultrasound!
Good Luck Molly! I hope everything goes smoothly for you!

I had my 33-week visit today - am measuring 40 weeks (my stomach is stretched so much the nurse called it "glossy" Not sure glossy is anthing I ever wanted my stomach to be!). Babies passed their first NST with flying colors. Thursday we go back for biophysicals, doctor visit and u/s for official weights. So far no dialation, so we seem to be in a good place.

I am back from my visit and everything looks GREAT! Babies are doing wonderful Baby A is measuring 2.8 lbs and Baby is at 2.5lbs; my babies are huge! Fluids and membrane and h/bs are looking great. Visit went great too BP 110/68. I had my test for diabetes and they will call me in few days with results. Oh and I forgot to mention the best part baby A turned and is head down  As long as he stays tha way we will go with vaginal delivery. From now on I will go for bi-weekly appts.

Today was my first dr appt back at my regular ob and not stuck in the hospital. Had u/s and baby a is 5lbs 5oz and baby b is measuring 5lbs15oz, so nice and big! My dr was so excited i made it to my appt and that as of tomorrow i'll be 35 weeks. she admitted she's been really worried about me and didnt think i would make it here, so that was cool. I am officially off totally strict bedrest and am now on a more modified bedrest for the next week, then week 36 i get my freedom back after almost 9 weeks of this, yay! Not that i can get around if i wanted to anyway by this point, but its the thought that counts. Also got an induction date of august 10th where i will be 37w6d, so the end is in sight!

Yes...good luck with all of your appts...AND inductions...woo hoo

My DW goes in Friday (she will be 24 weeks). I got a bet on how much they will weigh. I am thinking 1lb 4.5oz, so we shall see.

Hopefully Merrick wont be kicking his sister in her head the whole time this visit. Guess he is just tryin to make her tough, but her better watch out...she might already be plottin payback...

I got the test results I passed the diabetes test and my iron levels look good too. However, my thyroid level is slightly elevated it should 4.5 and its 5.6. My Ob wants me to start the meds she said it could one reason the boys are so big. But she didn't sound concern at all we will repeat the test in 6 weeks.

    Hey all,

We had our 24 week apt. last week at the OBGYN everything was great. Have not gotten the results of the gluc. test, but they said they would only contact me if there was an issue.

We had our 25 week apt. today with the perinatal dr.
    Baby "A" is measuring 1lb 12oz
    Baby "B" is measuring 1lb 10oz
    ...both are measuring 25 weeks.
    My cervix is measuring 4cm.
...so he said we look to be on schedule for a 38 week delivery.

Other then the normal aches and pains. ...and exhaustion. I think we are doing well.

Well, we had our OB appointment this morning. Brought up the fact that we were uncomforatable with the early C-section date and that we'd talked to the perinatologist. She was *very* flustered - swore up and down about the 34-35 week bit and said he'd even read her the recommendation from an article. Went so far as to call him while we were there and is now waiting to hear back from him. In the meantime, we've re-set the date from August 3rd to August 10th for our C-section - her partner will be doing it because she's out of town that week. She really was flustered, too - she forgot to measure Baby B's heart rate and then forgot to give us our paperwork to turn in to the front desk before we left. She didn't seem at all put out that she wouldn't be here the week the babies would need to be delivered, though! Will post more once she's called us and let us know the final word from the perinatologist.

    That's great news Jenn!!!

Molly you will do great can't wait to hear all about it!

I had my normal OB appt on Monday and everything was fine. Baby Girl B had briefly turned head down but again was back to breech. She is my little troublemaker and the nurse even confirmed it LOL! We did my first NST and everything looked good, Baby Boy A was so good and gave her great readings. Baby Girl B was jumping around so much we had to stay longer to try and get a decent read on her (that's why the nurse agrees with me on her attitude heehee). But so far everything looks good. Wish I could say I felt good now. ;)

Good luck to everyone else! :)

I had my gender scan and regular doctors appt yesterday and it was a GREAT day!

Not only did the completely cooperate, but they were so good for the u/s tech. We got all the measurments and they look fantastic! We also found out that we are having a boy and a girl! AHHH!!! Exactly what we wanted and hoped for! We are so lucky and blessed its unreal!

Baby boy has a "something" on his abdomen, but they said that it could either go away, or the machine they were using wasn't as good as a hospital one. I have another u/s in 2 weeks to follow up.
My cervix was "beyond generous and wonderful for a twin pregnancy", so that was good.
I'm 19 weeks 2 days but measuring at 24 weeks!
My blood pressure is good and I have zero issues or concerns!

Over all it was a great day!

I see my OB for the first time on August 7th and I get to see the kids again!

Yay! Talked to my OB on the phone - she talked again to the perinatologist who admitted that he had said 34-35 weeks for delivery, but that he and his partner thought that was too early and I should deliver at 36 weeks instead. We now have a final date - August 13th!!! Now I need to go buy all the little stuff we'll need.....

Sounds like a lot going on...and some great news. I am jealous...I have to wait another day until my DW's appt.

Time does seem to be going by fast though. I sent her a "Donut of Misery" to track me being gone and her pregnancy. They are pretty cool. If anyone is interested, this is the link and you can change whatever you want on there.

Nevermind...guess we are going to have to be on next week's thread. The Dr. just called and the Unltrasound lady will not be there Friday, so she has to go Monday. Guess I will have to up my guesses on how much I think they will weigh now

33 Weeks + 3 Days visit today - babies did well with both scoring 10/10 on tests (biophysical and NST). Baby A (boy) is on target with a weight of 4 pounds and 8 ounces... doctor chuckled when he let me know that Baby B (our "little" girl) has an estimated weight of 5 lbs 10 ounces, with measurements to match. She is in the 69 percentile for singletons... almost of the charts for twins at this age. Our dh was born almost 8 pounds at 37 weeks, so it looks like she is taking after her biggest brother.

He said the discordance between the two was not of concern since Baby A is on target and Baby B is ahead (no one is lagging behind). That means I have 10 pounds of baby plus two of everything (di/di twins) and another 3-5 weeks to go. :shok: My poor stomach already looks like a maze...

Looking forward to "This Week's Appointments August 17-23!"

I went to the OB last Thursday and the ultrasound tech today. Have my next OB visit NEXT Thursday--wow--down to the 2week checkups!!!!
anyway, my girls were not overly cooperative during the US today--there had been a lot of movement and they ended up both being transverse by the end of the visit, at first baby A facing up, then she turned over--heads to bottoms, so opposite one another, baby A's head to my right side and baby B's head to my left side. I guess that is why i don't feel like I'm getting kicked in the groin anymore :)

    Abigail (baby A) measured 2 lb. 7oz
    Elizabeth (Baby B) measured 2 lb. 8oz

Sounds right on target for single weights, so I have no idea what that means for twins!!
This is without any scientific research, but I'm guessing my 25 lb. weight gain breaks down to 5 lbs for babies, 5 lbs for placentas, 5 lbs for amniotic fluid, etc. and then 5 lbs each for my growing "nursies"?!?! LOL

We had our 26 week growth ultrasound today and everyone looks great. They are within 2% of each other's size so there are no issues there. They both weigh about 2lbs 4 ozs and are currently in the 56th percentile.

I'm so glad they both look healthy! :D

I had my 23 week ultrasound this morning and the boys are right on schedule she said. Twin A is 1 pound 1 ounce and Twin B is 1 pound 3 ounces! All their measurements are what they should be! Twin B's heartbeat is 151 and she never did tell me what Twin A's heartbeat was! They are both breech with their bums down but its okay since I still have lots of time! She was able to show me that they were clearly boys!!! No girls for this mama!!! Twin B did not cooperate however when it came time for her to take pictures of them for me so I didn't get any of him! I am very happy right now!!! Lol!

I had an ultrasound on Thursday - totally wasn't expecting it since they hadn't told me about it when they originally booked it (I found out when they called to confirm the appointment). Both babies look good! Baby A is head down and weighs 2 lbs, 5 oz, and Baby B is breech and weighs 2 lbs even!
