This Week's Appointments Jan. 10-14

We have our 34 week biophysical ultrasound and dr appt. I really hope this week will be my last of work. I am glad cause I will get an exam and then I will know a little of what's going on!!

 

I've got an ultrasound on Thursday! As long as the ice melts, today is the only day this week it's getting over freezing but it's going to be cloudy so the sun won't be hitting the streets. I DO NOT want to be stuck in this house all week!

 

I have an appointment on Thursday with the doctor, but no ultrasound scheduled until week 20 (3 more weeks!). I've been trying to remember all of my questions so I can write them down.... but my brain just doesn't work so well this pregnancy! I'll probably remember them all on my way home from the appointment.

 

I had to take the 3 hour glucose challenge this week. Just got the results.
Apparently I hit the borderline number of 95 for fasting, and had an elevated 1 hour number. Other numbers were fine. So now they're sending my results over to the perinatologist.

I don't know how much more they can alter my diet - I don't eat badly as it is.

Has anyone had a similar experience that can tell me what will happen? Is Gestational Diabetes an automatic pre-term delivery scenario?

My ultrasound went really well, both babies are doing wonderfully! They were 1 lb 8 oz and 1 lb 11 oz, both measuring ahead which is surprising considering how small DD was and how little room I will have for them to grow.

 

I had the same thing, and they didnt do anything because my other numbers where fine. The thing with that test that gets me is that they have you drink a crap load of sugar, tell you not to drink anything, and you sit there no walking. Under normal circumstances, you would drink water AND be walking which would lower your sugar levels......

 

My appointment went well. I ended up having an ultrasound to measure my cervix since I have a history of pre-term labor with both of my prior pregnancies. They decided yesterday to start monitoring my cervix every other week with ultrasound, so I'll be making lots of trips into the doctors office. We also took a real quick look at the babies. It still stuns me to see TWO babies inside of me. I'm so mystified by that.

The nurse practicioner that I had the apt with is also going to recommend to the doctor that we start progesterone injections weekly. Trying to dig up some info on that so I'm a bit more educated when the doctor calls today. Starting today I'm also going to be adding multi-vitamins to my IV fluids since I still can not seem to get any vitamins to stay down. Overall, a really good visit! 13 days until my anatomy scan
