This Week's Appointments Dec. 14-18

I'll start! I have an appointment on Thursday morning. It will be my first u/s since we found out about twins. I'll be 12 weeks exactly and I'm anxious to see how they are doing. At the last u/s at 7.5 weeks they both had good hb's but one had a smaller sac and we were told to prepare for VTS. This will also be my first appointment with my OB since getting pg. I always saw him when TTC but at my last appointment I just met with the NP and was in shock. I certainly didn't know what questions to ask. I have sooooo many questions now for my dr. So I'm hoping to learn a lot on Thursday and come away with a stronger idea of what is going on, how the babies are doing, and in general what to expect in this pregnancy. I'm very excited and nervous!!!!

 

I too have an appointment on Thursday morning, with the maternal fetal medicine specialist. It's our NT tests, and from what I've read it will be an hour of looking at my babies on the screen. I love watching them! I am finally looking forward to talking with someone who knows about twins and what to look for to see if they are mono-do or di-di (the docs have pointed out a membrane separating the two). The tests scare me, but I am trying to focus on the positives. If all goes well, I will tell my boss in the afternoon after our holiday Christmas party! I am 12 weeks today!

 

It went well. They wouldn't rule out Downs, said they wait until they get the bloodwork back. But the numbers were just above 1 mm, so that made me feel better. Baby B kept dancing around and Baby A was on his head the whole time! I asked about the placentas and they said they "thought" there were two placentas, but I never got a definative answer... frustrating...

 

Had my 32 week visit today. I gained a pound in the last two weeks, making the grand total 18 lbs, but the doctor doesn't seem worried because I'm still growing (measuring 38 weeks) and at the last u/s both babies were measuring the same at 4 lbs each, and heartbeats today sounded good. Next u/s and check-up in two weeks, then weekly!!

 

I had an appointment yesterday at 19 weeks and they checked my cervix and it went from 3.5 to 4.5!!! Just a quick scan of the babies and they are pretty certain there are two placentas with a think membrane between sacs. Babies looked good but a more detailed u/s at the end of the month. So relieved to have a good appointment, always feel better to see the babies!! Have a great weekend everyone!
