This Week's Appointments 8/11-15

This is our weekly appointment thread for the week of August 11-15. Please reply here and let us know any appointments you have this week. Don't forget to come back and update us on how the appointment went. Good luck at all appointments.

 

I visit the regular OB on Tuesday. After a good report on the babies from the peri, I'm really hoping the OB is as happy with me as the peri was with the boys!

I have an appt with the Peri tomorrow as well as my 1 hour Glucose screening. I can't wait to see how much my babes have grown!

 

I have my Peri appointment tomorrow (August 12th) at 9am. I just see him so it's just a normal check-up. I'll stop back in and let you know how everything went.

 

I have an OB appt on Wednesday and a growth scan on Friday!! I still hope everytime I go in they are going to say "oops we must have got your due date wrong..you are actually 34 weeks " I sure feel like it!!

 

I have an u/s appt and regular OB appt. on Thursday! I wish the same thing about the due date (I could never be that lucky though!).

I am wishing that my boys are growing and that my cervix is not changing! That sounds weird, but I know you guys understand what I mean!

 

OB appointment tomorrow. The doctor said that 34 weeks was our first goal and that is Thursday, so I'm sure that he'll be happy with how I'm still doing.

 

I have another u/s and AFI (fluid check) on Wed with peri. . . Hoping baby B's fluid is still staying stable (polyhydramnios). . .I am also hoping that I am not dialated anymore. . .I will update later in week =)

I go see my OB on Thursday as well!!!! I am praying I havent dilated anymore, and that I can continue to work! boy do I need the money!!! I will update everyone on thursday once I get out of my appt.

 

I have an ultrasound this Thursday and a regular OB appt. on Friday. I weighed 160lbs at my last two doctor's appt. which means that I did not gain any weight in a month's time. I am really hoping that I have gained at least 2-3 lbs. Everyone tells me that I am carrying my babies very well. It looks like I have a beach ball stuffed under my shirt. I am just glad that they are both healthy and I pray that they stay that way. I will send an update later.

 

I have an OB appointment on Wednesday.

 

We have a 32-week u/s on Friday, the 15th.

 

I have my regular OB appointment on Thursday! I can't believe I am going every 2 weeks already, time is flying!

Well my OB's office called (she was out of town last week at my appt so I saw the Nurse Practitioner) and now she is back in town and wanted to switch my appt from next Tuesday to this Thursday. . .I was dialated to 1 cm and put on bedrest the last appt so she wants to check my cervix and see if I am dialated any further and if not, my bedrest might be lifted (lets hope =)). . .I am hoping they will measure my cervix at my u/s wednesday also to compare to previous measurments. . . My OB will also decided on Thursday whether or not to start steroid injections. . .

I have an appt (8/12) today at 4 pm. No ultrasound though.

 

My Dr's appointment went well this morning. We had a quick ultrasound to check on them and they're doing great....the Dr said "Happy as Clams" So they're doing great. Little hearts beating away, growing like they're supposed to. My little contraction episode last week didn't seem to do any harm. The Doc is still very happy with my progress - no shots for me yet! My blood pressure was still a bit on the high side with the top number - and this was after a nice long relaxing wait (we got there early). It was 147/74 today (was 144/65 two weeks ago). They don't seem overly concerned about it though. SO I guess it must be ok. All in all he seems very happy with everything. I asked when he thought he'd take me out of work and he said we'll have to see how I'm doing but usually between 24-26 weeks they start checking to see how I'm doing comfort wise and of course how contractions/cervical length and baby sizes are doing. He said that they like to see them growing about an ounce a week for singletons after 24 weeks and he'll be happy with 3/4 oz a week with twins. We start growth checks at the next appointment which is in 2 weeks - August 27th. We also have that gestational diabetes test at that one - the test where you drink that sugary stuff.

 

We have a OB check up tomorrow to discuss the GREAT news we learned Friday!

Good morning!

Yesterday I had my peri appt. We found out that Jayden is weighing in at a whopping 1 pound 14 ounces and Jordan is weighing in at 1 pound 11 ounces. So big! They've gained pretty much a whole pound in four weeks.

My cervix looked good as well. It was measuring 6 cm....so still no signs of premature labor for moi, so it looks like I'll be working until the day of delivery! She said it's highly likely that I still won't make it to my c-section date of 14 November though just because it's twins. We'll see.

I had my appointment and the dr. stripped my membranes in hoping it will bring on labor otherwise I will be induced on the 23rd. I'm hoping I don't make it that long.

 

My dr's appt went ok. I am scheduled for my Level II ultrasound on the 27th (23 weeks). The heart beats were 150 and 160 with a kick at the end. I was measuring 24 weeks. I don't go in for another prenatal check until September 11th.

Good appt except for a long wait and a lot of weight gain.

 

I was in the hospital for about 8 hours on Saturday with consistent and painful contractions but since they didn't make me dialate they called it uterine irritability and sent me home and told me to expect to go through this until the end. I have been suffering with painful contractions daily until I had my appointment today. The doctor prescribed me terbutaline, I took my first dose at 4pm a little jittery but doing ok, no contractions. The girls bpm were 140 and 142, and I am stil thick and closed I have another appt. next week and another ultrasound in two weeks.

I hope that you are able to start laboring soon! How exciting.

My appointment was a little crazy yesterday. The night before I paged the doctor because my bp was 144/102 (I'm already on bp meds). The doctor had me double my dose that evening and if it was still high to take 4 times the amount in the a.m. He also told me not to eat past midnight, in case I was having the babies the next day. It freaked me out! We packed the last minute items in all the bags and after waking up to another high bp reading I was certain the babies were coming. Thankfully, my bp was down by the time I went to my appointment and the doctor is now having me take 4 times my normal amount of bp meds. If it goes high again to call right away, otherwise call this Friday with all my bp readings. Basically, we are taking it day by day at this point, which is very scary.

Yay! I finally made it to 31 weeks. Josh weighs in at 4lbs 2oz. He is on top in a transverse position and has all of the room to move around. J-sy weighs in at 3lbs 9oz. He is at the bottom in a breech position and he is getting squished down there. I am happy that there weights are good however I am a bit worried about J-sy's heart rate which is in the120's. Josh's heart rate is in the 140's. I see my OB tomorrow so I will have him check the heart rates again.

 

I had a DR's appt today and had to do the three hour glucose test. That was the worst tasting stuff every! Unfortunately i wasn't able to keep it down, so 40 minutes into the test it all came back up. Fortunately my OB isn't going to make me do it again, i just have to take some blood draws for a few days to make sure my sugars are OK.

I've been on bed rest for the last three weeks because of a shortening cervix, it had gone down from 4 1/2 to 2 1/2, Today it was back up to 3, same as last week, no contractions no dilating so my OB said i could get off of strict bed rest and just do minimal activity, which i am very excited about. Its not a lot but I'll take it. We're hoping things stay about the same, only seven more weeks until full term, hope we can make it or at least get close.

Everything went wonderfully. Baby A's weight was 3.8 and his fluids were 3.8 also. We saw him swallowing and practice breathing. His head was very low. Baby B was 8.10 and his fluids were 4.2. He is also head down and just a bit higher-his butt is pressing up against my ribs his brother has hit foot jammed up right into the middle of my chest so now I know where all of the pain is coming from!!

 

I had my doctors appointment today. The doctor said that the babies heart rates are fine and that my cervix is still closed. I have my next doctors appointment in two weeks. I'm sure I will be able to hang in there.

My appt yesterday didn't go as I would have liked. . .My blood pressure was high (I have chronic hbp, but its been really good so far) so they got worried and sent me to the hospital to be monitored and to get some lab work done. . .Well the babies were doing good and my blood pressure eventually came down. . .my labs came back normal, so I was sent home on bedrest once again. . . I was told that hospital bedrest is probably in my future, and to get prepared. . .But how do you prepare for hospital bedrest when I am a SAHM to a 3 1/2 year old and my husband works 65+ hours a week to support us?? I am stressing out a bit but trying to stay as relaxed as I can so that these babies can "bake" some more. . .
