I have my first NST this morning (in an hour!) followed by a visit with my OB.

I have an appt. and ultrasound on Friday afternoon. This is the first appt. after we found out we were having twins. After talking to my husband, I guess the OB told me stuff that I can't remember. Oops. I was really in shock at that moment.

Update: I had several contractions (5-6?) during my NST...doctor was "amused," but not really concerned as they haven't been too painful nor consistent. She did the first internal exam since I've been pregnant and determined that I am 80% effaced, but not dilated. My next appointment is in two weeks...and my doctor said with a smile, "maybe I'll see you sooner." It is starting to feel a lot more real!

I have a general appt on 6/19. I have a feeling they are going to take me off of work, they mentioned it last time. I called today to tell them that if I wasn't scheduled for an ultrasound, I wanted one. We haven't had one since May 20. I don't want to go longer than a month w/o one and I also want them to actually measure my cervix, not just 'feel' it to make sure it feels okay. Hopefully they will grant my wishes, cross your fingers!

I'll be going to MFM tomorrow. If the doctors there don't bring it up then we are going to ask them about delivery since we're getting so close. I've been going to my regular OB every week and seeing MFM docs every third week. That means my next appointment with them wouldn't be until I'm 36 weeks so we need to start thinking about how things will be done now.

I also have to go in a few days after my regular OB appointments for an a weekly NST now. Not looking forward to it as lying on the table (even though I was on my side) made me extremely lightheaded and nauseous.

I just wanted to say that today for my NST, I was sitting in a reclined position...maybe that is an option for you??

I have a NST and u/s cervix check on Thursday. The doctor also ordered home health contraction monitoring, so the nurse should be coming out sometime in the next couple of days. Anybody ever had this and know what it involves? They mentioned something about remote monitoring via a phone line, but we have VoIP and no land line, so I'm not sure if that will work?

  9. I went to see the doc today. Everything looks good.. I'm at 34 weeks, but my belly only measure 46 in.. I guess i'm pretty small for having twins. I did gain 3 pounds so I'm hoping that when I have my ultrasound next week the babies will have grown a bit. Last week they both weighed 4 lb 9 oz. At 37 wks if I haven't delivered they will either induce or schedule a csection. It's getting close!

Regular appt. with OB on Tuesday. I'm worried he'll do a vaginal exam again. If so, I hope he's not as rough as he was last week when checking my cerclage and doing the fFN. I can't even remember the last time I crawled up the table during a vaginal exam.....maybe when I was in labor with my DS?? He was just very rough and I spotted/cramped for 2 days after that ordeal. I'm almost hesistant to NOT tell him about it because he'll pobably wanna do a look-see again.

Lynne, :hug99: I hope things went better today and if he did do an exam it didn't hurt as much. I would tell him because mainly he could be a bit more gentle with you? :hug99: Let us know!

Just got back from MFM. Babies are measuring 4# 5 oz and 4# 6 oz. The dopplers are normal and fluid is almost equal. Doctor there discussed delivery and told us he does not want us going past 36 weeks because of medical history during this pregnancy. That means we have 3 weeks or less depending on if I go into labor on my own earlier! I almost can't believe it's going to happen that soon!! It sounds like I will probably be having a c-section but we were kindoff planning on that anyway. MFM scheduled one more appointment with them in 2 more weeks.

Karlie, I'm happy to hear things seem to be going good! :good: And only three more weeks!

  15. I have my first NST tomorrow and an OB appointment after. I'll be 30.5 weeks. I hope they check the babies via u/s, I'd really like to know their size estimates now!

Lynne...my last pelvic exam almost had me in tears, too. I wonder if it's because everything is so swollen/engorged down there? I have never had such a painful one either!

Had a regular OB visit today~everything still fine. I had a bunch of contractions last night, but they petered out when I showered and went to bed. My sister gets in today, so DH thinks when she gets here I'll be able to subconsciously relax and go into labor. That would be nice. B) My doctor said he's going to be working at the hospital all day on Saturday, so that would be a handy day for him. We'll see. I'm still afraid I'm going to wind up going to July.

  18. Well, the babies passed the NST! But I didn't. I had three contx in 20 minutes and now they want me to take Procardia daily, since the contx *are* picking up in frequency and intensity. I'm bummed out. I'm glad the babies are okay of course, but it sucks to have to go on meds now. Blah.

I did mention to him that I had some spotting after his exam last week and he responded it was normal. <_< He didn't seem concerned until I lost my mucous plug yesterday. I went back in for an exam and he said I still had alot of mucous hanging around my cervix. We did another fFN and we'll find out the results today. Now, he's concerned of course. I'm not having any contractions, cramping or bleeding. My cervix is still long and closed with no tension in my cerclage so we're holding off on the steroid shots until 31-32 weeks. I just hope we make it that long.

We had an u/s yesterday (28 weeks) and a peri appt after. It seems our Donor baby (Abbey) has only 1 cm of fluid now. They figure they cured the TTTS but in doing the laser surgery they have cut off some of Abbey's much needed supply of the placenta. Both girls weights were good 2lbs 8 oz and 2 lbs 9.5 oz but Abbey's growth has slowed or is slowing down. All of their blood flows were normal too. I am going for an NST tomorrow and another on Monday and then back to the hospital with bags packed on Wednesday (29 weeks) and if there is no improvement I will be staying in and monitored continuously and it will be day by day when they decide to take the girls out. Not very good news but we are optimistic of their chances at this point.

My appointment went well. My cervix is down to 1.7, but she seemed happy with that. She did a fetal fibronectin (still waiting for the results), and was able to to a visual check of the cervix. She said it was closed and looked more "substantial" than she had expected based on the ultrasound. The boys did great on the NST. I did have several contractions, and signs of irritable uterus (whatever that is?), so she's putting me on some oral medication that starts with a "t". My husband is driving all over town now looking for a pharmacy that has it in stock. :D The home health contraction monitor arrived, and as soon as he gets home he's going to set it up. Since I am doing that, I can stick with weekly visits even though I'm contracting. Yay! I'll post again when the fetal fibronectin comes back - hoping for a negative!

I had my 32 week appointment with the MFM today. Babies are doing well -- both are measuring at ~5 lbs and had perfect scores on their BPPs.

We were able to see that our little girl has hair -- very different from our first who was born bald and didn't get a haircut until she was 2 1/2. It made things so hard those first few months because, no matter how many pink outfits/blankets you put on her, everyone assumed that she was a boy.

Most exciting news -- he agreed it was okay to scheduled my c-section for 38 weeks! :a_smil09: (My OB wouldn't agree to anything earlier than 39 weeks without express permission from the MFM). It's really just a mental hurdle - I'm a transplanted New Englander and the thought of being enormously pregnant during August in Georgia is enough to make me cry.

Update: Yup, next Friday is my last day at work. It seems so weird, I really thought I would go farther. My cervix is at a 5 now, which is awesome, but it is getting soft. And I have been having contractions but no pattern I have noticed. I guess they want me to be safe though and so do I so, home on the couch I go!

    Hi!

I had my appt and ultrasound on Friday afternoon. The dr says they are monochorionic diamniotic (mono/di) twins. I had to look at wikipedia to make sure I had that right again.

He said everything was looking good. The heartbeats were at 152 and 164 bpm and were measuring about 2.5 inches. One was measuring 12w5d and one was 13w1d. He just said we will have to just watch out for TTTS, preterm labor, and pre-eclampsia.

I go back in on July 15th. I will be 17 weeks then. Hopefully they will be able to tell the gender then?!?!
