I just got back fom my MFM u/s at 16weeks.
babies are doing good.
Baby A is 5 oz and babyB is 6oz the tech said this is good. ( is it?) They also check the birth canal ( I assume this is cervix) and she told me good 3 cm ( I thought it should be more then 3 but of couse I don't know anything about it)
I asked to predict the sexes and she said it's a little hard but she check the baby B and said that he is a boy ( 90% boy) but she sound like 100%.
with baby was much harder she check with t-a u/s and said that it probably a girl and after she did the t-v u/s she said. that she doesn't see a penis so she is alittle more sure that baby A is girl but 20 weeks u/s will tell for sure.
I woudl be more the trilled if she is right :)
Also baby A is breech ( buttock first) baby B is vertex I know it's early and they can flip 1000 times.

I have an ultrasound on Wednesday morning to see if my placental abruption is getting bigger and to see if my previa is correcting itself. Sort of nervous to hear the news. Anxious, really. Will let you know how it goes.

I have a "short" U/S scheduled for tomorrow. Normal monthly growth U/S last week showed that Baby B had more fluid than Baby A. Both were within normal range, but I guess they just want to keep an eye on it.

I went to OB today and I was told we are going to try vagional birth but we set c-section up just in case for March 13- I'm due 3.28.09. She advised that if I go into labor after 34 weeks she will not stop it. Dh is due home in just under two weeks. I am scared and happy. I have gone through this whole pg w/o Dh and it looks like he will be here for the delievery but I will not know till he gets home! I am terrified of both delievery options too! I'll be taking it easy for the next two weeks.

Oh she will start the NST after my next apt in two weeks ( so I'll be 34 weeks), 2x a week.

FFN test tomorrow, growth scan and more importantly hope to see what baby A is. Baby B revealed himself already to us. Little Sister is going this time too.

Monday I had doppler scan....no change. Wednesday is my gestational diabetes test, followed by ob. check up, including steroid shot, followed by appt. with midwife to talk about premature babies and breastfeeding. Thurs is another doppler scan, followed by 2nd steroid shot. Lucky I bought a diary to keep a track of things.

I had my consulation with the peri yesterday. It went very well and I really like him. It was basically just talking about the risks of mono/di twins and what the plan of action is going to be. Other than the two and a half hour drive each way I really enjoyed the day! We go back on the 24th for our extensive ultrasound and then every three weeks after that for U/S and O.B. appt.

I had growth scan yesterday. Baby A is 2 lb 15 oz; Baby B is 2 lb 6oz - fluid levels, blood flow and anatomy all look good. They are about 19.5% discordant so they have scheduled another u/s in 2 weeks to keep an eye on it.

I saw my OB yesterday, unfortunately no ultrasound this time (I love my ultrasounds), but I did get to listen to babies heartbeats. I was nervous about my OB reviewing my glucose testing logs, but she said it looks like my GDM is under control, so I am glad I won't need insulin injections. I was also nervous about thinning out (last time I saw my OB I was 50% thinned out) but she said it did not get worse, so I guess strict bed rest is working. She said I will need something called BOPS testing for the last two weeks before delivery - where they check babies' breathing, movement, position, etc., I will have to go 3 times a week (so much for strict bed rest, LOL!)
Can't wait to see her again in two weeks - they will do my growth ultrasound, my final one before delivery! :D Good luck everyone, hope all goes well for you!

Just got back from the dr's office. We have a boy and a girl (yippee!! exactly what I wanted) and they are about 1.5lbs each. Everything looks good with them and my vitals are great. I have put on a total of 16 lbs or so everything looks great with them, their development and I couldn't ask for more!

Had my OB appt and another NST today. Both babies seems to be doing well, baby A was far more active and gave better readings as far as accelerations throughout test, but he is always the more active one. Baby B did give a couple of accels and they had to do a bit of poking on him to get him to move but he did respond to a contraction so they say everything looks ok. The heartrates were closer to the same rates this time, last week one was in 120s and one was in 150s, this week they varied in 130s and 140s for both. BP still okay, had one appt two weeks ago when it was pretty high for me but it was 114/68 today. Said that after next week would not do anything to start labor, but did not get checked or anything today which is okay with me, I do not want to feel like things are changing and impending this week and start worrying, two weeks ago I had not started dialating at all. Next week will be a growth scan and I think another NST.

I have an OB appt 2/5 at 10:00

This is going to be a FUN appt because this will be the first time that I will be speaking to my OB after being surprised by twins at the u/s.

In fact, at my 8 week appt, the OB felt my abdomen and told me that my uterus was measuring 8-10 weeks and I asked her if there could be twins because I could be measuring a little ahead, and she said Oh, I don't think you're having twins!"

And then after that, we heard a HB on the Doppler at 12 and 16 weeks- and there was no indication that there were two HBs.

Ha! I will be sure to update- we will be going over the results of the u/s and what this means for the rest of the pregnancy.

Hey all!
I got some great news. The placental abruption is not growing. And the doctor said it was not in a highly dangerous place. He thinks it will eventually absorb back into the body. But it the mean time, he thinks I will be able to go full term, and that he wants to see me up and active again by week 30.

So it's still bed rest. (Being conservative early really helps.) But things are looking better. We are so relieved!!!!!

Just got back from this weeks appt. U/S tech had a hard time getting measurements because the babies are in such awkward(sp?)positions. One is breech and the other transverse with both their heads under my left lung. Twin A measured in a 6 lbs. 8 oz. and Twin B at 5 lbs. 4 oz. Doc said everything is great and we are good to try to make it to the c-section on March 3rd. Oh, and he said I am still on bed rest and will probably be until they get here. So I go back next week.

My doctor said I'm running out of room and he's looking at his calendar for the week of Feb 25 (36 weeks.) Baby A is breech and if she doesn't turn, we're going to have one unwelcome c-sec.

The babies are estimated to be about 5lb 3 oz (A) and 4 lb 10 oz (B)

I feel okay except now very panicky at the thought that they won't get any bigger because I won't let them.
