This Week's Appointments 12/8-12

This is our weekly appointment thread for the week of December 8-12. Please reply here and let us know any appointments you have this week. Don't forget to come back and update us on how the appointment went. Good luck at all appointments.

 

I have an appt on Thursday at 9. I've not really had a real appt yet so I'm pretty excited. My first appt was an orientation and then they sent you for lab work. My next appt was the following wk bc they called due to my elevated hcg levels and wanted me to come in for an exam to check for a molar pg. The u/s confirmed two babies, and the next wk they had me come in for another u/s to confirm two amnions. I've not had an appt since and I'm so full of questions! I go to a group practice of 3 mws and some physicians. I do know that I'll only get to see my mw for a little bit longer before I'm transferred to the docs (who I don't really care for--I had to see them with my dd a few times bc of ptl). Plus, I want to make sure everything is okay bc other than my big belly and sheer exhaustion, I don't feel pg.

I have a 29 week check on Tuesday!!

 

It is the big US today. If all goes well, we will be choosing names for our babies. I really hope for b/g twins. I have had lots of dreams about them. They are very active this morning!

My daughter has her 33 week appointment on Friday. She's been having alot of back pain, but when the dr. checked her cervix last Wednesday it was still 3.5 inches, so all looks good so far.

 

I had my 24 week fetal weight scan today. Libby is 1 pound 8ounces and Josie is 1 pound 9 ounces!!!! My cervix is still at 3.4 so I am waiting to hear back confirming I do not have to go on bedrest just yet (crossing everything). The only bad news is that my gestaional diabetes was confirmed

 

I had my 22 week appt today. Measuring 26 weeks, babies hr in the 150s, bp looking good, gained 17 pds now.

Have a growth scan for the boys on Friday and looking forward to knowing how big they have gotten.

 

Came back from my appointment today and here is the verdit from my 20w scan!

20w scan, measuring 28w
both babies are 14oz
cervix length is 4.5
both babies are BOYS.......

I am so excited, I just cannot believe it! No news is good news. So, hopefully I will not hear any bad news from my Dr and I will continue on with life as I know it right now!

Just got back from my appointment ! Dr said everything looks good cervix is nice and long babies gained about 1/2lb each in a week !! yay everything is going great and im so excited!!

 

I have my first app with my peri on Friday.

 

15 w appt on the 11th!

 

tomorrow 12/10 I will have my first appointment with my OB. I would be 8w4d.

 

19W appt for u/s on Fri the 12th

 

I had my 35 week appointment yesterday and the babies are still breech but doing well. They looked so cramped in there! The doctor scheduled our c-section for December 29 - it seems so far away but I know it's only 19 days from now. We have our last growth scan on Friday. At our 32 week appointment our little girl weighed 5.2 and our little boy weighed 4.8, I can't wait to see how much they've grown.

 

my OB appointment was scheduled for 13:30 today and I know that I need to fill out a lot of paper came eslier. so at 13:15 I was already in the office. it wasn't much patient there might be 4. I filled everything out and waited and waited. I was invited to the room at 15:00 ( 1,5 hours waiting)
The Doctor check my cervix and did pap smear, ask a lot of questions and said that we need to talk a lot about twins so he will meet me in his office. I was like what about u/s He smile and said "DO you want one" I said " Of cause I do" He does have only abdominal one so we couldn't get any numbers but at least we saw both babies heartbitting. After he prescribed me another prenatal and additional 3g folic acid and some blood work and I had a long "lecture" about what can go wrong and when and with babies or with me. Anyway it was very good. he allows me to gain 25-30 lb and only after 12 weeks. he said I would be on home bedrest from 24 to 28 weeks because these are very crusial weeks in the pregnancy. anyway I asked to have another appointment in 2 weeks before my NT scan which is scheduled for 01/05/09. and he did one for me.

Awesome! I'm glad it went well and those babies are doing what they're supposed to be doing

 

I had my appt today and it went well. I met with a different mw and she was much more knowledgable. She assured me that the mws (who I LOVE) will not just leave me high and dry, but they will still be involved in my care, even during delivery if I choose. She said that I will, in fact, be delivering in the OR, but it doesn't mean that I have to LABOR in the OR and they are not going to automatically place an epidural unless all of the variables require that I do so. If the variables are in favor of a vaginal delivery, or even a trial, then they will just let me be if the babies are faring well. She even said that oftentimes the mw will deliver the first baby while the doc delivers the second. They are aware of my desires, and also that I am willing to comply with whatever measures they feel necessary to ensure the health of all involved. I'm measuring at about 18-19 wks, and I've actually gained much less than I had originally thought. I guess my bathroom scale broke (what an excuse, huh? It's true, though!) so I've only actually gained 10-11 lbs. I'm right on track.

She scheduled me for an u/s on Christmas Eve, and I'm praying that they will be able to determine the genders at that appt. She said it is possible, but not guaranteed. I know it's wishful thinking but I'm hopeful We would love to be able to shop for a couple of outfits or something gender specific to give to the grandparents as their gift on Christmas day. I figure with two identical babies that the tech should have a pretty good idea, right?

My next appt is with the OB. My mw said that they will review my u/s beforehand and set up my plan of care to discuss with me at that following appt on January 7th. I will be followed closely by frequent growth scans and appts that will eventually involve BPPs and such. It's going to be tough since I'm going to be crammed in my last semester, but it'll work out, I'm sure.

I feel so much better after this appt. I feel like we are all on the same page. There's my update!

Oh, and the hbs were pretty synchronous. One seemed to be in the higher 150s and the other seemed to be in the lower 150s. She was 95% sure that they were two different hbs bc both places sounded very strong with the doppler placement.

Amber had her appointment this morning, and I went with her. The doctor listened to the babies heartbeats with a portable monitor, measured her and told her things look good. She said next week (34 weeks) she will have an ultrasound and a non stress test. Amber has been having lots of back and shoulder pain, so she recommended either getting a massage or going to a chiropractor. Amber made a massage appointment for Monday.....I hope it helps her. She also mentioned she might think about inducing her after 37 weeks. I'm interested to see what the babies estimated weights are next week at the ultrasound. I'm so excited to think that she has made it this far, and done so well.

It sounds like it went really well I'm sorry she's feeling so crummy. Hopefully that massage will help.

 

19W6D u/s today

Baby A- measuring at 19W5D and 11oz. HB 143

Baby B- measuring at 19W2D and 10oz. HB 140. Also has small accumulation of fluid around his heart.

Peri said not to be concerned, but of course i am.

I intro a couple of weeks ago and have been trying to read boards, but have not really gotten to post too much, I am still working quite a bit and have a hard time finding time for everything, but want to try to be more involved as this is a unique journey we are on and it is nice to have others with similar concerns, experiences etc. I had an appt today, the 12th...26 weeks 3 days. They did a growth scan and everything looks good so far...one baby is 2 lbs 2 oz and one is 2 lbs 4 oz. They look to be sharing one placenta so are being monitored for TTTS but so far seem to be right together in growth. They also did a cervical measurement and said that looks good too, 5 cm.

 

I had my 30 week U/S today. Both babies are growing great. Their estimated weight is 4.8LBS where as 3 weeks ago it was 3.8LBS. Emmalee(A) had an HB of 140 and Aubrey(B) was 144. I have a NST next week Friday. The week of Christmas I have my steroid shots and then my c-section is on December 29th.

Oh my, how exciting! You are only a few wks away from delivering those little girls! I'm glad they are doing well and I can't wait to hear about the delivery.

The babies are a pound apice with hr at 143 and 146. Baby b looks great, but they found a heart abnormality on baby a. Jan 5th we are having a heart study done on baby a.

 

My app on Friday was cancelled, but we found out that we had lost one of the babies early Friday morning and so it was cancelled. I go on Tuesday for an updated u/s to check on things

 

I have my 24 week check up and growth u/s on Wednesday (12/17)! I am excited to see the babies again. It seems like it has been so long (four weeks).
