This is why I don't buy seasonal shoes in advance!

I measured T&T for sandals in April. They measured right at the 7.5 line. I measured them again yesterday and they're measuring 8.5! One full size in 4 months after barely any change for a long time. And they did exactly the same thing last Summer so I'm starting to wonder if the warm weather makes their feet grow.

you know i was just thinking the same thing! it seemed like c&a's feet didn't grow from dec - may. and yet, when i took them to get new sneakers for school this weekend, they had both grown between 1/2 and a whole size from may. crazy!

I understand completely. I don't ever buy Whit's shoes in advance. Of course, since at last measure, he was wearing a between and 9 and 9 1/2 XW, why would I? Maybe it's the sweating that makes the feet grow????

No kidding! We measured the boys' feet at the end of Spring and ordered some sandals. When they got here, we realized they were way too big, so we ordered up the next smaller size to compare (with intention of then returning the bigger ones if the smaller ones worked). Even the smaller ones were too big at the time, but we figured they'd grow into them over the summer. Luckily we were too dang lazy to return the bigger ones, because now only a couple months later, they actually need the bigger ones! I didn't plan to need two pair of sandals to last three months!!

So I guess I did the right thing by buying shoes that were way too big for them.... I was just noticing this morning that the size 6 Tevas were almost clown-like when we first put them on in May(ish), but now they look pretty good.

Hannah's foot grew a full size since April. I have NO IDEA what she is eating, cause it sure isn't Wheaties!

    Us too!

One DD went up 1 1/2 sizes since May! (7-8.5 M) YIKES! My other DD went up 1/2 size ( to 7.5 N)....

Needless to say- last springs sneakers & church flats will need to be replaced... My DD w/ the larger feet had to get 'new' sandals in late July since the old ones were already too small.

What is it with shoes (and clothes)? I swear we'll be swimming in a size of shoe/clothing forever then before it fits is suddenly outgrown!

I try to limit my next-size-up buying to tennis shoes, but I did buy some snow boots for them for this winter (couldn't pass up 75% off the CLEARANCE price for $7.00! ) . I am hoping they'll still fit, but they are the same size I just bought for Nick, which is comfortably roomy now. I'm half hoping the store will restock those same boots come mid-fall so I can exchange them for a bigger size.
