i put them in this morning for their nap and they didn't cry as much as yesterday, and fell asleep sooner. of course, they only slept 30 minutes. i tried to leave them in their hoping they'd go back to sleep (like cohlee said), but that didn't work. i just put them in now, and they did cry, but even shorter than last time! maybe they'll take a FORTY minute nap this time lol!

My girls haven't been taking long naps since they started sleeping through the night (7 pm until 6 am).

DH is home with them during the day (while I'm at work) and he says they take a max of 20 minutes when they used to sleep quite a bit longer.

    Is that normal?

that's what mine are doing, and have been doing since about 4 1/2 months! it's pretty frustrating, cuz they get tired again so quickly

I'm not really sure how to handle it. I've got the bedtime routine and sleeping through the night thing down (knock on wood). At night, I know right away when they are getting tired but not overtired, I put them in their cribs awake, and they fall asleep on their own with just a little bit of fussing...sometimes not at all.

Poor DH can't get them to sleep even though he knows they are tired, so they end up getting cranky and overtired. When he changes them and gives them both a warm bottle to get them ready for a nap, they end up falling asleep for just a few minutes. He feels like he has no time to do anything during the day because he doesn't get the hour or so break that he used to get when they would nap.

I feel so bad for him, but I just don't know what to do. I would hate to do anything that might interfere with our newfound STTN!!!

I remember the first few times my girls did that I didnt know what to do with myself either! I kept thinking 'any minute now they are going to wake up' so I couldnt start anything.

    I hope this trend continues!!!
