I swore I'd NEVER buy clothes early again after having to return bags & bags of clothes that I had bought ahead of time, but I think I'm going to do it again. I have lots of coupons & there are lots of sales going on at the store I'm eyeing up.

So, my question is, if you had to take a GUESS...what size do you think my boys will be next summer?

    They're currently 20-22lbs (at their 9 mo appt) & wear either 9-12mos or 12-18mos (Old Navy 18-24mos pjs). I've 'guessed' 3T next summer...am I far off? Do you think 2T? I just don't know.

I CAN return, but it's such a pain. I'd rather just have them & be able to use them! My boys have always been on the top end of the charts, but I've heard they slow down/thin out once they're more mobile.

    Any guesses??????????

(PS thanks for letting me invade the 1-4 forum...we aren't essentially here for another 2+ mos!)

They will slow down in their weight gain in the next year. I would say 2T based on how my 3 have gone.

It would depend on brand...Old Navy you could maybe do 3T. I would get some stuff that would usuable Fall/Winter/Spring (pants, shoes, socks, T-shirts, long sleeve shirts) and just wait for summer essentials (suits, tank tops, flip flops, etc).

I tend to buy in advance if I think we could use it over a course of 6+ months since then no matter when it 'fits' it will work.

Save your receipts (staple or tape to tags) if they dont fit- return! Many stores have a 180 or 90 day policy and you would know by next Fall if it would work!

I would guess 2T in most brands, 3T in ones that run small.

Hard to say, because I find, just like adult clothes, it depends on the brand...some of the stuff that fits Donovan is 3 and 4T already. Tiana's my petite one that can sometimes even still fit 9 month stuff, and I was dumbstruck to see her fit into a short set from Kohl's that was 2T! It's a little loose on the waist, but the sizing HAS to be off.

My girls' growth slowed down a LOT during the second year. At 9 months they were both towards the top of the weight charts, but at 24 months they were still wearing 12 month pants. They wore a lot of 12-18 month stuff almost until they were 2.5. Your boys may not slow down that drastically (DH and I are both small, so it was pretty likely in our case), but I doubt they'll go from 12 months to 3T in a year. I'd say get 2T, and stay away from shorts, because the season for those is a lot shorter (unless you live in the south) than it is for T-shirts or long pants.

Both of mine are off the charts tall and average weight, they are still in 2T, but getting close to 3T and are almost 2y/o, if that helps!
