Well, girls, I might not make it to my monday appt after all... I've been having ctx since wednesday off and on...and have been dreaming about them all night now. I think I've been having them in my sleep..woke up about 25 minutes ago when I had a decent gush of fluid...doesn't smell like urine...had a bit of bloody show. I've never peed on myself in any of my pgs, not even my twin pg...so i really doubt it was that. I've had maybe 3 small ctx since then. Got my call into my doula to give her a heads up, but I think I'll be hanging out at home until things get moving a bit more. Prayers are appreciated!

Still sitting at home!!! I had about 1.5 hours of ctx 5 minutes apart...then I fell back to sleep and woke up feeling fine!! eeeek!! I had a handful when I got up...and over the last hour they've been maybe 10 minutes apart. I'm going to call into the ob/gyn around noon to find out what they want me to do. This really sucks b/c I'm vbac..so if my water has ruptured, and they can say that conclusively then I'll be put on the clock...and they will not do induction with vbac unless I'm already 2 or 3 cm dilated... Maybe they will strip my membranes, that's about it. So I can only pray that 1. Maybe I'll go in and they'll say, "nope we don't see amniotic fluid, go home." or 2. I'll go in and be significantly dilated and given a bit of pitocin just to get things going a bit faster. I don't think it would take much. I really KNOW for sure it was my water..but there is the possibility that I have 2 layers on this sac...perhaps the first layer ruptured and not the second. I know there's a lot more fluid in there b/c it wasn't as significant as it could have been. So it's possible that if they can't find it leaking out they will just tell me it was probably my bladder. (I know it wasn't... I've never had a leaky bladder with any of my pgs...and I had just peed an hour before, so i didn't have a bladder that was overloaded.) anyway please keep the labor prayers coming. this is just so bizarre b/c with my first labor it was pretty intense as soon as my water broke...and things seem to be taking their merry old time here. Not really how I planned things out in my game book!!!

would you believe...almost 12 hours later and I'm still here!! LOL! Contractions kind of petered out after 7am, so I waited at home to see what would happen. I put a call in to my ob/gyn around noon. Got one of my favorite docs, who is on call today, told her exactly what happened...and she told me to stay home. she doesn't think it was my water b/c I'm not continually dripping now. I still think it was my water, but I'm not going to argue with her. Better to sit at home and wait for another rupture than to go in and get put on the clock. I have an appointment tomorrow morning at the office anyway. I'm kind of nervous that one vaginal check is all it will take for a big gusher! Hope that doc has scrubs on! LOL! Still having occasional hard ctx, but nothing spaced closer than 10 minutes..kind of random. Definitely harder than they've been the last few days. Why do I have to be one of those women who have on again/off again labor patterns??!!!! grrrr.....It sure would be nice to just have no labor whatsoever until the real deal starts, then bam, 4 or 5 hours of it and your done...none of these guessing games. ugh. It wasn't even this bad for my first dd...well I did have 4 days of ctx, but never a sign that my water broke.

Well, girls after yet another false alarm I'm still here!! Woke up this morning at 1am to some really hard ctx. by 1:30 they were 4 minutes apart. Hard enough that I had to breathe through them and couldn't talk. Lots and lots of pelvic pressure, and bloody show. Well, after sunday's drama I decided to try to wait longer....thought I waited long enough and headed in to L&D around 5am, ctx still 4 minutes apart and hard. I get over there, they hook me up, and what do you know..the ctx peter out! AAHHHRRRRGGGG.... they check my cervix, still long and closed. WHAT!!!???!!! oh well, guess she is just not done cooking yet. I came home around 7:30, dh went off to work...I got a nice hot shower and took at 2 hour nap. Rescheduled my u/s and doctor's appt until friday, but I better not make it that long! I can't take these ctx at night. what is with that. This is so bizarre. With my older dd the one reason I knew for sure that my days and days of ctx WEREN'T real labor was b/c I could actually fall asleep at night. This is the opposite...I'm up all night from really hard ctx and then by daybreak they are gone. What the heck. Anyway, my mom is really parinoid that I'm going to have this kid at home. We kind of have a family history of long, closed cervixes opening up to a 10 in just a few hours. My sister's labors have worked that way....and my mom's too. My only labor experience, I really don't know if it worked that way b/c they didn't check me for about 6 hours after my epidural....so it's quite possible that I did open that quickly but was left to sit in the oblivian of my epidural-numbed state. Anyway, I think I'm just going to have to sit around and wait for these ctx to literally come right on top of each other before I head in again. Honestly, the ctx I was having this morning were hard ctx just like when I was in labor with my older dd...just spaced more reasonably apart at 4 minutes instead of every 2 minutes like I had with her. I really didn't want to wait until they were that close together b/c of the drive being 25minutes...and total h-e-l-l while having ctx that close. But I'm not going to do another practice trip to L&D, that's for sure...not my favorite place to be. Next time I get there I expect that they won't need any monitors to tell them that the kid is coming out NOW!! LOL!

My mom wonders if maybe I'm funnelling from the inside out and you just can't tell from a cervical exam?... In any case with her labor with my older brother she was also having hard ctx for hours and hours...the nurses told her she wasn't having him b/c she was still totally closed. Within four hours of hearing she was closed she was pushing him out. My twin sister also had the same experience...with her first dd she went from a 2 to a 10 in an hour...with her second she went from completely closed to pushing in just 3 hours. I had 4 days of ctx with my first labor as well...however, not nearly as hard as these ctx have been. These are literally "take over your body" kind of ctx. Not just, "well my belly is tightening and I'm really uncomfortable and in pain." I literally feel like my whole pelvic floor is going to pop right open. Thankfully, since I got home from L&D I've only had 3 really bad ones. I don't know what to think of all this. It's very strange. I really think I'm going to have to have some huge sign that this really is it...like my water absolutely 100% gushing...or my ctx being right on top of each other.... I think in the latter case I'll probably be screaming the whole way over to the hospital. ugh. I can see why many women opt for repeat c/s. But I still want to try for vbac. My one consolation is that this situation is kind of giving me no choice but to do most of the labor at home without pain meds. I can't be running into L&D everyday, so i'm going to have to wait it out to tell if it's the real deal or not. Thankfully Julianna did just great on the monitors...she seemed to handle the ctx fine. And so far my c/s scar hasn't given me any pain in spite of the rough ctx. So maybe my uterus is just testing the waters here.

Yeah - I think I would tend to side with your mom! you may end up having her at home! I had never heard of funneling from the inside out - but oh my goodness - if you are and you have a strong family history - then you might not make it to the hospital!!!!!!! I know with me the sign I was truly in labor was the bloody show! and w/ DS #3 they almost sent me home because the new nurse put the monitors on upside down and my contractions weren't being picked up - they thought I was being a big baby!

just be careful!! can your mom or someone stay with you so that you are not alone and so that you don't end up having to drive yourself?? I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you - you are in my thoughts and prayers!!

I'm at it again...after all day with just a handful of ctx I'm up tonight unable to sleep with some really bad ctx about 6 minutes apart. I could cry. Last night I tried staying in bed and just dealing with them there...tonight I decided to just get up....maybe they'll go away again, and I'll be able to go back to bed sometime tonight.

I so think where you are is where I am going to be. With the twins, my cirvix was so long, they tried to induce at 37 weeks and 50 hours later I had a C/S because my body just wasn't going to give up those babies. I am also going for a VBAC and can just picture myself in your shoes. I am so hoping it starts to go better for you!!!

Are they still so sure that your water didn't break a few days back?
