So I was taping down the sides of a box to turn it into a toy for the boys, and Tom starts WAILING. He simmered down to a whimper and I went to pull off another long piece of tape - WAAAAAH! He was afraid of the tape sound!

I nearly busted up! but caught myself in time to put the tape down calmly and give him a hug. Poor little guy! But of all things, the tape?

    Anyone else?

I still laugh hysterically when they poop! The grunting, their faces turning red, the noises, its all just so funny! Even the smell makes me laugh, I get all dramatic when I change them so they laugh too.
(my sister says they are going to be asked to leave pre-school for inappropriate bathroom humor!! :p )

DS is very fond of blowing raspberries, especially when he has a mouth full of food. I can't help but laugh, he looks so funny.

this might sound kind of sadistic but when i am nursing and ds bites me, i say "ouch, no bite". thankfully he has only done it a few times & it isn't too painful...but when i say "ouch" he CRACKS UP. must be the sound of "ch" but it is the funniest thing. i know it's terrible but sometimes when he is fussy i can just say the word & he is hysterical.

My little Maya startles very easily. If you sneeze she will throw her arms out and pause for a few seconds. Then she will scream bloody murder and it always makes me laugh so hard!

My daughter does this too! It cracks me up. Also, my son scowels. He will just sit in his chair and furrow his eyebrows and stare at you... it is the funniest thing.

    Oh, what a funny thread!

Ivy is a very, very sensitive little girl. She's scared of the vacuum cleaner. OK, that's understandable. But she's also afraid of some cute hand puppets she used to like. And she's scared of a video clip of her cousin (several months younger) smiling and blowing raspberries!

I shouldn't make light of her suffering, but it is really, really funny to see her freak out at a video of a sweet little baby blowing raspberries! :rotflmbo:

my sweet little 22 mo old DD looked down at her brother's poopy diaper last week and exclaimed at the top of her little 20 lb lungs....

Fear of tape! Gotta love it. :D

Karina is trying desperately to crawl, and so far has only managed to go backwards....every morning, she backs herself into the corner between her crib and a tall dresser, and gets stuck. She tries to roll one way, and bonks her head on the drawer pull. Then, she tries to roll the other way, and bonks her head on the crib. She does this repeatedly, and complains loudly every time.

I really shouldn't laugh, but OMG, it's so funny....and, I'm usually changing Kevan while she does this, so I can't just leave him on the changing table and go rescue her....

I have one who startles early, but what I really find funny (I'm evil) is that Lulu has stranger anxiety and screams every time she sees her grandpa. The reason it's funny is that we have had some "moments" over him not seeing them more than a handful of times (he lives a mile away) because he is sooo busy. When he comes in and she screams - like Halloween screams...I have to laugh a bit inside.

Ally has this thing where when she is crying and you put her paci in she makes this sound like "leggo leggo leggo leggo" and it just makes me laugh every time.

One more on Ally is that she, as my DH puts it, is very "pickable" (easy to bother, fun to pick on) and Bear, bless his heart, is SO easygoing. So if Bear wants her toy, he will go over and get it, and she SCREAMS bloody murder and waves her little arms around. Some days if he just crawls too close she will go into these fits. And then there's when he pulls her bow out of her hair--i dunno, but i think you all can hear her on some days! if you hear a shriek, it's my pickable little Ally. And Bear, he just smiles with his mouth wide open saying "aaaaaaaah"

Bear always makes a break for it if he sees the gate is down, or my bedroom door is open, he ducks his little head down and moves his chubby arms as fast as they will go, and i just laugh and make a run for it to try to beat him to it. he is fast, too!

ETA Oh Becca, Bear went through that pushing backward and getting stuck in the corner too--here's a pic of the funniest time--he was under the bouncer, and of course could not get out!

My DD does the same thing!!! She HATES the sound of packing tape, which was so hard because we just moved so it was an everyday thing that she heard for weeks while we were packing boxes and she always wailed like it was the worst thing in the world. I never thought a baby would be scared of that noise. This is the first time I heard another baby being scared of it - thought it was just mine, lol

What a cute idea for a thread!

Both of my girls smile after they sneeze and always have, so we always say "Bless you! Sneezing is fun!" They will get weird looks if they start repeating this when they get to school.

Baylinn likes to crawl through small spaces. Instead of going around a chair, she will attempt to squeeze through the tiny space between the chair and the cabinet. It's so funny.

Breena used to do the raspberry thing with mouths of food. I thought it was hilarious...DH didn't.

Both of them play with the dog which makes us laugh. Luckily we have a sweet-tempered 3lb yorkie who is very good with them. They take his toys and wave them around and he just sits and watches. When they lose interest, he picks it up and tries to give it back to them. They also pull his fur which makes him do this funny-sounded squeal. I have to uncurl their fingers from around his long hair. Poor dog!

my DS loves to pick on DD he takes her toys from her all the time and she cries then he puts his head on the floor and looks up at her with a smile because her head is down crying. he also makes her cry by yelling he has this real loud scream he does and he just looks at her and does it all the time ahhhhh ahhhhhh ahhhhhh. then she cries and he looks at her again and goes aaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. now if we are all in the play yard if he comes near her she flaps her arms like she's going to fly. if that dont work she then puts her arms up and tries to climb on me to rescue her. the dog barks she cries we have a 90lb black lab. she loves to raspberrie her food out. if i shake my head they both go hysterical. i am forever laughing at them. the other day they were in highchair buckled in but with tray off and i was sitting with them DS was kicking his feet and DD was laughing at his feet moving.

I can always tell when Silas is really sleepy. When I put him down in the crib, he will start whining, almost crying and then I out his paci in and I can see him start smiling, then whining then smiling until I turn him over.

OK, I feel a little wrong for this, but I don't call my girls this to their faces and it's only between DH and I (and now you guys) but . . .
Leah always has a LOT of boogers and Leila always poops twice as much as Leah so I've nicknames them snots and sh!ts. :)
Now, I'll go prepare to burn in heck for admitting that! :)

That's funny as Kyla has lots of snot and blows bubbles and Logan is always wet, so we call them bubbles and pee boy :D

I laugh under my breath all the time. DS has the most naughty looking grin that will tell you he did something wrong. lately though they tackle each other with a kleenex (we're getting over colds) and ds will chase dd around to try and kiss her... h gives these open mouth, tongue kisses so I understand why she runs!

My DD is also afraid of noises now. She didn't used to be but vacuum, crumbling chip bags, food processor, electric knife, or anything of the kind. I am sure tape woudl do it too.

My DS also blows the raspberries all the time and often when he eats. Again it is hard not to laugh as I tell him no.

We have 2 black labs. If they run aroudn and wrestle my DD laughs her head off. But if they bark it is intant tears. Once they were both sitting up watching the dogs and one barked, they both jumped, and fell over then the screaming started. I wanted to laugh. They are wrestling and growling and you laugh and one bark bring tears. So ironic.

Okay, if we're talking about ways we make fun of our babies....Karina is huge, and DH calls her Mega Baby, or just Megs for short. And not a day goes by that one of us doesn't invoke the old Bill Murray as Hercules SNL skit...."This baby is too large. Can I lift a smaller one?"

Kevan has some oral motor delay, so his tongue hangs out a lot -- and, he has a habit of sticking his hand down the front of my shirt. DH is always saying, "Subtlety, dude. If you act like this in junior high, the girls are gonna smack you."
