They're Here!

Well after a couple of long weeks, the babies finall made they're appearance at exactly 36 weeks! I had been going to the hospital for NST's twice a week for a while and was experiencing a lot of BH. But the last two days of my PG, they felt stronger and more regular. My doctor told me that he wasn't convinced that it was labor because I was not dialted or efaced and gave me an Rx for Ambien to take at night time to relax my uterus enough to get some rest (the contractions were keeping me up). Well, the first pill I took must have relaxed me enough to put me into real labor! My water broke early in the morning and we were on our way to the hospital. When I got there the nurse checked my cervix and I was dialted to 5. She told me that she felt like she shook hands with the babies foot. After that everything moved very quickly. I ended up having a CS, which was no surprise since the babies couldn't make up their mind on what position they wanted to be in. Luckily, my doctor was already there delivering someone else, so we didn't have to wait for him.

At 4:01 am on May 10th, Connor William was born and weighed 6lb and 15 oz, at 4:05, Claire Grace was born weighing 7lb and 8oz. Since the babies were so big, it was near impossible for me to lay on my back for the past few weeks due to dizziness. But during the c-section, obviously, there is no other choice. As soon as they laid me down, I passed out. They did their best to keep me awake, but as soon as I came around, I went out again. Fortunately, the babies were not affected and were very healthy. They did not have to spend any time in the NICU. It makes me sad that I missed out on their birth, but that is soon forgotten when I see their sweet faces!

We were all able to come home on Mother's day and so far so good! They babies are growing and eating very well!

Good luck to everyone else! The last couple of weeks are the worst...but you can get through it!!!

congratulations. I cant wait till that day either to have mine. I still have a ways to go though. I know you are happy to have your little ones home and what a wonderful mothers day present to be able to bring your little ones home.

 

Congrats! Good news for you! I'm sure you're relieved its all over......I'm looking forward to having mine soon as well. Your right, the last few weeks are exhausting, buts its all worth it at the end!

Wow! Your twins had great weights!

Did you have an epidural for your c-section?? So the reason you passed out was because of the babies weights? I hope that doesnt happen to me as mine are also on the big side

Wow-- those are great weights! So glad to hear of the healthy, beautiful babies.

I didn't realize you could actually pass out during a C-section (though I do believe it for sure-- I get very lightheaded when I lay on my back!)... so glad everything else went well.

congrats on having two healthy babies!!! Mine were born at 36 weeks too - infact i could have wrote your post minus the passing out. I did however have to sit up numerous times durring u/s b/c of almost passing out but once it was c/s time, i was ready to go. Good Luck with them and cant wait to hear more from you in the first year forum...

 

I had a reaction to the spinal that made me come very, very close to passing out...twice.. I had the spinal twice... I wasn't totally out..but let me put it this way...my eyes were closed, I could hear what was happening but had no control over opening my eyes or moving my arms at all... Thankfully the sensation passed by the time they pulled the babies out.

What big sizes!! And for 36weeks! Wow!!! Congratulations!

Awesome weights, way to grow 'em mom! I'm glad everything ent well, other than passing out, I was out of it for my last c0section the whole thing was a blur.
