They're here!

Well as my other post said.. I went into labor and delivery on Thursday at 7pm. I was having contractions and they put me on fluids and then Magnesium drip to slow/stop contractions. The mag drip didn't helped and I progressed to 6cm dialated. They then decided to go ahead with a csection (both were breech) because they didn't to chance me prosgressing more and baby A "slipping" out while breech. So the babies were born on July 31, 2009. Baby A joined the world at 3:31pm weighing 2lbs, 11oz. Baby B joined the world at 3:32pm weighing 2lbs, 13oz. Both of them were 15 inches long! They will be in the NICU until at least around their due dates (October 16th). Unfortunately my hubby was not here. He was scheduled to leave his deployment today. They have managed to change his flights so he will be here one day earlier at least. They are not officially named yet cause we will have that conversation when he gets here. I did have a good friend in the OR with me. I have not got to hold either of them yet or see then since I delivered because I can't walk to the NICU and I'm fighting to be allowed to go in a wheel chair. Baby B has a tube to give medicine for his lungs but that's it. I only got one of the two steroid shots needed to help develope their lungs because of progressing too fast. Thanks for all of the thoughts and prayers.

 

Congratulations!! :Clap: I'm sorry you haven't been able to go see or hold them. Keep on fighting Momma, they should let you go!! I hope you get to go soon and that their stay in the NICU is a short one. :hug:

 

You keep fighting to get in there- you're not sick & they are your children! They can't hold them hostage from you. :grr: I'm sorry they were so anxious to come out, but it sounds like they are progessing well.

Awww, bless your heart Jo. Congratulations on getting your babies here safely. It sounds like things went well given the circumstances and I'm sure your little ones will continue to progress and grow stronger. I hope your husband makes it home to you all real soon and that you're not too lonely. :hug:

Congrats Jo! I would fight to get in there too. You may not get to hold them, but you should be allowed to hold their hands! It is tough to get around after a csection, but a nurse can help you into a wheel chair and help you get there.

I am in a state of shock right now, as I'm sure you are! I hope your DH gets home soon and can help you! :grouphug:

Congrats! Sorry your DH missed the delivery and that you haven't gotten to hold them yet - I know that must be hard. They'll be home before you know it though. Good luck and KUP!
