My 15 1/2 month old twin girls are on a food strike it seems like... They will NOT eat anything!! All of the things they used to like, they do nothing but play with or get angry.. It seems like all they want is sweet stuff, like yogurt & bananas... They would live on those 2 things if I let them! They usually eat breakfast pretty well, but my guess is that its because breakfast is usually a sweet meal.. Like pancakes, french toast, malt-o-meal, oatmeal, cream of wheat, etc... They will eat scrambled eggs but only if there's something else like pancakes involved... How can I get them to eat more meats & veggies?

Keep offering it to them and only offer one sweet option, and that only after they eat some of their other food. Toddlers live on air if I remember correctly.

Remember that their stomachs are only as big as one of their fists, offer them good foods, and a good variety and that's all you can really do. Try not to get too frustrated.

I always offer the least favorite food right from the start when they are hungry and put that food only on their tray, so there is no other option. I can sometimes tempt them if I give them a fork and we spear the broccoli together and they will eat more bites. Lately they like to pick their food out of a dish.

Bex is right, all you can do is offer! That and model good eating. I find that my guys eat better when I don't push, and when we all eat together at meals. Don't stress about meats; if they drink at least 2 cups of milk per day they're getting sufficient protein with that alone. Anything else is gravy! And definitely don't stress about veggies. Fruits are very similar nutritionally to veggies, so if they eat fruit, they're getting the vitamins, fiber, and antioxidants they need. :good:

My guys don't really like veggies either, so I offer them at dinner, but almost always have some apple or pears or some other fruit on the table as well. :)

I remember when I was so proud that my girls would eat almost anything... that is certainly not true now. And it changes daily! I offer... and then let it go. Sometimes I will offer a favorite (right now it's cheese) at supper so they have something in their tummies for night time.
