They were not kittens......

So at my last post i was so concerned about my doc having to go of somewhere just as my due date is arriving. Still pondering the latest "crisis" in my pregnancy, my girls decided it was time to make a grand enternce...
I went into natural labour on Saturday 21 April. It was fine and I even slept most of the day. At about 11pm I decided to phone my doc, by now dh was in a panic and kept on asking me if the pain has gone away yet and whether we are driving. Labour pains were aout 8 min apart with contractions about 40 sec long. Doc suggested hospital immidiatly, much to dh's delight.
Arriving at the hospital now in real discomfort, they established that yes i am in labour and the doctor felt Athena's foot. LOL that was so funny at the time. Suddenly, i swear it was the idea of being at hospital, my labour came fast and furious and everyone was runnng around getting things ready.
The rest is normal stuff, spinal block, I felt yuk, babies born, dh in tears, appologising for being such a jerk a couple of months ago, congrats all round, and all i wanted was some water and to see my babies an sleep.
Athena was born at 1.20 am at 5pounds and Victoria at 1.32 at 5.4 pounds. Pitch black hair and perfect.
They were taken to NICU for observation and they wheeled me to them a little later. I remember telling my dh that they "dont look like kittens". Needless to say his face asked a million questions. I explained none of my weird dreams or fears came true. I dreamt they looked like kittens, were boys, went missing and a whole lot of other silly things. We are home and settling in now and yes oh my gosh it is a lot of work but it is a labour of love.

They are beautiful! Congratulations! Did you have a c-section? It sounds like BABY A was breech but I cannot tell if you had a c-s or not.

Hi Amy, yes i had to have a c-s. Athena was breech and Victoria was transverse.
