Just for the heck of it one day, my mom put on Baby MacDonald, one of their old faves. They probably haven't watched Baby Einstein in 6 months. Now they want to watch it all the time. It's fun to see them watch it now that they can identify things and actually follow it. So those of you with two year olds, don't give those Baby Einsteins away yet!

I can remember my oldest DD liked watching them at 2.5 years old when her cousin was a baby and he watched them. She would ask for one then.

Mine have done the same thing! Their favorite one is Baby DaVinci, or as they call it "Monkeys!" And now every time we hear or sing "Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes" they say "the monkey song!" :D

It's funny that you posted this. My guys have just discovered Baby Einstein. We've had a few of the DVDs for ages but they didn't give a hoot about the TV (except for certain commercials). They just now will watch for up to 15 minutes. That's HUGE for us. I'm using it as a transition from outdoor time to dinner time because coming in and sitting to eat is not cause for celebration around here. So, I bring them in with the promise of a "movie" and get their dinner ready while they watch. Bringing them to the table once they get bored with their show goes much more smoothly and I don't have them under foot and pulling stuff out of the cabinets while I'm in the kitchen. :good:

This is when we do a movie too. Our boys are currently obsessed with the Signing Time DVDs (Vol. 1, 2, 4, & 11 are our favs). It buys me 30-minutes to get dinner on the table without two clingy, whining toddlers to trip over.

I almost posted this same thing. We have three videos left and Ben found them the other day. That is ALL he wants to watch, to the point of having temper tantrums over it! Silly. But they love them, and can talk all about what they are watching now. It is fun. I am glad I did not get rid of them so soon!!!

Heck. Ours have rediscovered it as our neighbors play it for their youngest (now 2)!

That's cool Kelly. Maybe I'll try the baby einsteins again with my two. They loved it when they were little. Now we are into Backyardigans and Caillou.

My girls still watch them at 3+. They never stopped. Although Melissa does say things like, "Actually, these are baby shows."

Mine never stopped watching them . . . well, only the animal focused ones. "Old McDonald" (as they call Baby McDonald) has been a favorite for at least a year and a half . . . funny thing is it's one of the few kids videos that I actually like to sit through. The best part is the end when there's music playing and the kids and puppets in the video dance my two get off the couch and hold hands and dance together (and if one doesn't want to the other throws a fit!) I really need to get this on my own video before the stop doing it.
