BUGS! Anything and everything bug is exciting (even if it's just a picture of a bug). They still like the boats but no longer run squealing to the window everytime one passes. But a crane fly at the window, now that's cause for celebration! We're working on distinguishing between bugs that can be examined closely (like a crane fly) and those that should be examined from a distance (like wasps). They know about "ouch" so that is helping immensely.

How funny!! Mine are afraid of bugs!! Yesterday Zack grabbed my flip flop and squished a tiny ant, I was so proud of him! Maybe this is the breakthrough to their being scared of them, LOL

My boys used to love bugs - they would just sit and watch them. Colby got stung by a bee last year and now both boys are petrified of anything with wings. It's always fun to see what catches their interest. Maybe you could get them an ant farm.

my girls also afraid of bug or at best tentative. so I got a bunch of bug books from the library and got a couple of bug catchers from the dollar tree, and the first day they had them we caught a beetle and later a frog... they watched them for about 10 minutes then we released them. they are much less afraid of bugs except for the ants that bite.

Jazzy likes to look at bugs and then she likes to try and eat them (the girls true obsession in balls)

    OMG that is so cute!

My DS is mesmerized with bees! He loves to put his face right into the flowers to "see" them! I swear the kid is going to get stung on the face any day now!!!

On a related note, Amy has recently become obsessed with flowers -- which has made me realize that I don't know which flowers are poisonous. In general I try to get her to "look, don't touch," but she's a toddler....
