They DO exist!

So I posted the other day about my girls boycotting naps and asking when everyone dropped their 3rd nap. I decided to give it a try, I figured whats the worst that can happen?... They dont sleep, BTDT!

Yesterday they both took a 1hr morning nap, Maia took a 1hr afternoon nap and Sofia took a 2hr 20min afternoon nap (at which time I woke her)!
Today Maia took a 2hr morning nap, Sofia 2.5hr morning nap (again, I had to wake her!), and they both took a little over an hour afternoon nap!! :banana:

They have been going between 2-2.5hrs of awake time between naps (they get fussy right about 2.5hr mark) and I have pushed their bedtime up to 530-545 which I am going to gradually push as they adjust to 2 naps and as the weather gets nicer.

I am so excited, I feel like I can do things with them now instead of always putting them to bed! I really hope this works out!

Out of curiousity, when you put them to bed that early, what time do they get up in the morning?

Both of mine each took over an hour afternoon naps today & Aiden took a good morning nap, but Conner didn't. I can deal with 1 bad nap out of 4...much better than 4 bad out of 4!

They usually sleep till 7ish but this morning they were up a little bit earlier but they also ate and went right back to sleep during the night as opposed to their crib parties that they sometimes have.
Our nights are ALL OVER the place! Sometimes they'll only get up 2-3x to eat, other nights they are up 10x for various reasons.
I am waiting for that to work itself out. ardon:

 

Congratulations Cohlee on your transition to two LONG naps! I'm very envious of you....My girls are usually very tired and cranky by 1.5 hours, but you've inspired to give the two naps a try! Thank you!

We have reached the 2 hour naps also.. but mine are 1 hour in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon. its so nice!! I still go in a check.. It seems sooooo long to me...
Our night times are all over the place too. i have also decided to let them sort it out.. (hopefully they will soon!!!) I put the babies to bed between 630-645. I kinda let them decide..

I am so happy for you, I know what a battle naps have been for you .

I must say I am a little envious though... <_<

 

Mine do about 1 1/2 - 2 in the am and again in the pm. I never let them go past 2 hours b/c I felt it affected their sleep at night.

Isn't it great? I do have times when one bucks a nap here or there but I just enjoy the one on one time with whoever it awake.

I don't believe you -- you lie -- there is no such thing as a 2 hour nap (or even a one hour nap) ...... (says the insanly jealous mom... ;-) )

I keep waiting for the longer naps to appear...but 30 min is still our standard (sigh)....
