And not napping like good little girls should!

I brought them upstairs at 3:15 and they're still talking!

But it's happy talking and I'm counting it as 'semi-quiet time' LOL!

Watch, they're going to pass out in the next few minutes and then I'll have to wake them up by 5:30 at the latest (like yesterday) and they're going to be cranky! Is this a sign they might be ready to switch to one nap *cringing*? It just doesn't seem like they should be, they're almost always ready for their first nap in the am by 10 - 10:30 at the latest.

But I really can't afford for bedtime to be pushed back too late tonight, it's girls night out! I've got priorities, :p j/k And I'm heading out as soon as the little munchkins are in their beds!

Yup, it's now quiet....party's over (for the moment anyway...!)

    ETA: parties back on...sigh...

Oh yeah. This is what my girls were doing when we transitioned to one nap...sorry to tell you. :(

Mine too were ready for nap by 10-10:30. I started giving them a good snack around 9:30 and putting them down between 10 and 10:30. I will admit that for us it did take a few weeks to get adjusted because the afternoons were pretty rough. I stuck to it and little by little moved nap time back. Once I got them to 11:30, I started doing lunch at 11:00. We're now up to 12:00 and they usually sleep 1.5-2, sometimes 2.5 hours.

My girls have always had a 6:30 bedtime but there were many nights while transitioning that they were in bed by 5:45/6:00, and they would sleep straight through to 6:30/7:00, their normal wakeup time.

    Have fun tonight!! :drinks:

I did the same as Michelle. Gave them a substantial snack (at least some kind of protein and carb combo) around 10:30. That helped them stay up til about 11:00 for the first few days. Then I'd be out of the house in the morning, or doing something to keep them busy, get home and have lunch around 11:00 so they went down no earlier than 11:30. After about 5 days of that, lunch was at 11:30 and down for nap at 12. They napped from 12 to 2:30 or 3 for months. The first few weeks, they didn't nap well. They only slept like an hour some days. I never got them up before 2 and eventually they went back to their normal hours.

    *sigh*

Not sure how I feel about this prospect!

Friday, I ended up going to get them at quarter to 5, because they weren't having fun at their party anymore and yesterday they took two nice naps for my folks (babysat for us while we were at a babyshower) so today I have a feeling we'll only be doing one nap! I'm going to have to bite the bullet and decide when I just want to make the switch!

Oh well, on one hand I'm kind of excited about being able to go out in the morning and actually do stuff! We live far enough out that it's hard to just run to the store but not far enough out that they can get a decent nap in the car unless I drive around extra, and with the price of gas....

    So we'll see!
