Katie & Addie were born on Friday morning, bright and early, March 14, 2008, after lots of hours of waiting. My water started to leak Wednesday night, but we went to the hospital on Thursday morning. I was given pitocin to induce labor, and the babies took their time until they finally showed up early Friday morning. I lost a lot of blood during the delivery, but am home and recovering just fine. The girls will stay a few more days just to be monitored, they were born at 34.5 weeks.

Kaitlyn Ann Elizabeth (Katie) 5 lbs, 9 oz, 19 in born at 4:26 am
Adeline Marie (Addie) 6 lbs, 11 oz, 19.5 in born at 5:24 am

It was difficult leaving the hospital, but I know they are in the best place. They are breathing on their own, regulating their own temperature, and increasing their food intake daily. I'm so happy they are doing so well, just can't wait til they are home with me and daddy.

Good luck to all of you who are expecting...It's amazing. I was so FREAKED about giving birth, but it wasn't nearly what I thought. I made it through with flying colors and have two beautiful girls to love and parent.

This forum has been so helpful during my pregnancy, I'm looking forward to moving on to the next stage.

Congratulations! I love their names! Those are impressive weights for 34 weekers. They will be home before you know it! Leave a disposable camera at the NICU so the nurses can take pictures of them when you aren't there.
