YAAYYYY!!! I am soooo excited! Some of you may have read previous posts by me regarding my DS who had NO interest in using the potty.. and I truly did NOT expect him to be pt'd by his 3rd bday. Weeeeeelllll, we are awfully close!

His daycare ( that I LOVE by the way) only potty trains in underwear, so I was hesitant to bring a bunch of clothes to school, just for him to pee in them all day and have a ton of pee stuff to wash. Well I finally bit the bullet last Thursday. Thursday and Friday he had 3 and 4 accidents respectively. Saturday I kept him in a diaper but took him potty throughout the day. Sunday I put a pull-up on him and took him potty every hour or so, and HE STAYED DRY ALL DAY, even throughout NAP and OVERNIGHT Sunday night!!! Yesterday at school (back in underwear) he only had ONE accident and it was poop. ;)

Im sooo excited and surprised because just about a month ago I had tried putting him in underwear and I took him potty and he peed in his underwear w/in like 15 minutes, so its so impressive to see him holding it for an hour or more at a time!!
Im soooo happy! :D Can you tell? :) Also, even up until last week, when I would take him potty and he would pee, I would say 'yay' or clap or anything to encourage him, and he would tell me "No yay" or "stop it" so I really thought he wasnt enthused about it at all, but I guess something finally 'clicked' for him!

So, for anyone else out there who is struggling, there IS light at the end of the tunnel!
(Hopefully he will continue doing well; otherwise you will hear about it! lol)

Congrats!!!! Hopefully he continues to thrive with the potty training. It's such a nice thing when they are completely potty trained. I remember the excitement when you just can't stop smiling because that light bulb has turned on for them.

I am just about to start the process with my sons, so your post gives me hope. I have a feeling that one child is ready but the other is not, so this could be interesting. We've been reading potty books for a week or so and I got two DVDs from the library. They sit on their potties (well, one son does) as they watch the videos (after dinner) but so far no actual pee/poop! Anyway, I have 18 pairs of Diego and Curious George underwear, so I am hoping to start on Sunday. We'll see what happens! Congrats on your success.
